Fit for tonight’s swim ✨
Theoretically.
If one were to hold a goal .. say ... like a 12 - 24 month goal ... of participating in one's first sprint triathalon ... what resources would be recommended for training plans?
(Theoretically, this individual, cough, has historic but not recent cycling, solid running for a sprint triathalon, and would need to take swim lessons to brush up on form and strength...)
Wednesday night swim. 2,500y
Overall a good swim. I really missed the pool and my back seems to be ok with it.
Gonna try and get on my bike this weekend on the trainer and see how that goes. My plan is next weekend there are a few ladies doing the Madison loop on Sunday and I want to go and join them. So we’ll see how horrible the Ironman course is. 😳
I’m on call this weekend. Of course it’s a full moon weekend. I don’t know how I keep ending up with these weekends.
Work has been ok this week, but I’m having trouble finding joy in my days so far. I’m already stressed about today and it hasn’t even really started yet. I have my review coming up and I’m stressed about that and worried that I won’t get a raise, but I know I deserve one. I need to sit down and type out what I want. I know getting constructive criticism is ok, but from my past experiences with reviews I think I just have some almost PTSD about them. I’m worried it will all be negative feedback, I know it won’t, but I still worry. I’m also worried I’ll be told I have an attitude problem again cause I worry maybe I do, because I get frustrated really easily. I don’t know it’s all a jumble.
I haven’t been writing much. Life has been hectic and when I do write, Tumblr steals my post and I get pissed for not copying before I hit post and it disappears. For about two weeks I’ve gone swimming, lots of bike riding, three runs and a little attempt to make my arms great again. It’s nice to be back to exercising. The new house has given me great sunset and night runs. It hosted the best cold night tipsy cruiser ride that made me feel more alive than I’ve felt in months. I’ve used that 7 year old chiminea 3-4 times a week. It had been unused until we got here. I’ve joked that moving has made me an alcoholic. I’m not a big drinker, but I’ve been drinking 3-4 drinks a week. There have been years that I’ve accomplished that many in 365 Days. I’ve made a purchase that screams DRUNK single woman lives here. I got a good deal and I had to take it. I’ll update you with a photo later this week. Today is the five year anniversary of my dad dying. Coincidentally, his brother died a week ago. It’s been a flood of memories and emotions this week. I miss him. It’s a sunny day here today. I feel warmth. I feel love. I feel him. I just wish I could talk to him.
My kind of place 😊🚴🌞👍🏼
Took the plunge, I'm officially signed up! Ironman Chattanooga is in 28 weeks and I'm in full training mode. Today was a good bike day; 1:30 on the trainer for a virtual ride in London. Got 30 miles in with good power held through the entire ride. Apparently I earned 5th place of all time for women for a particular segment, the London Classique which is a 9.2 mile haul. I've also seen a 2 second decrease in one of the sprint distances over the last 3 weeks so I know I'm making improvements. Tomorrow is my favorite day of the training week: master's swim. I really enjoy the camaraderie from the group and the advice from my coach. My goal time for IMCHOO is to finish under 13 hours. I think this goal is going to be doable. Under 12.5 would be ideal but right now, I need to keep in a good frame of mind and put myself to the constant test
3.1 miles to start the week ✨
