Hi, i come with some rottmnt Triceraton observations and headcanons. This will be a mess of a text since its a recreation of my ramblings as i connected dots.

As precedent, I hope you all know about the one screenshot with the krang on a triceraton throne. If not, then here you go.

WOW big. Other than this, I didnt know any other trike shots in Rise at the time.

I was watching this video on the history of the trikes in the tmnt iterations. It was very interesting! If you watched tmnt03, then you get the gist of mirage, but the exception that Mirage later explores it more and introduces other trikes that seem to be based on other triceratops species. I recommend the watch.

Anyway, in this video, I see another shot of the Rise trike throne.

NOW, I'm a fan of some bad future shenanigans where Donnie stays as the technodrome pilot, stuck and fused to its fleshy controls, much like Mituna from Homestuck cough cough.

(ex. @pinetreevillain's donnie, and homestuck)

I'm just thinking that this is how that triceraton is there. It's dead, maybe half dead, and its brain, or even just whatever mystics it may have, is the technodrome.

(Which would mean that Donnie connecting to the technodrome might've connected to the trike as well?)

Having seen tmnt12, i know that the krang and the trikes there have a war going on. And with the trike head being displayed and sat on like a throne, I'm thinking there was a similar battle in Rise. That maybe the prison dimension in Rise is some old battlefield of the Krang vs Trikes. Or maybe the trike's garbage disposal. What if the trikes helped humans imprison them there with the key! What if the key is trike technology!

GODAMMIT THAT LOOKS LIKE A TRIKE FACE

But then why are humans credited as the banishers of the krang?

I wonder if the trikes had the technology but didn't have enough strategy? resources? power? to execute it. Maybe they needed earth mystics? Though the krang has a way to disable it.. Then again the krang are usually the fandom's origin to mystics? Cause of the Empyrean. It's responsible for originally mutating the Yokai.

What if the krang made the Kuroi Yoroi to turn humans to their side...

What if that is how the krang caught that giant trike. A deal with a mystic armor, that ended up sucking its soul and making a new entity, for the krang to control.

This, along with Karai's soul/ninpo, is imprisoning the shredder in season 1!!

"Five hundred years before the events of the series, the Kuroi Yōroi was worn by a leader of a clan called the Foot, Oroku Saki, after making a deal with an alien being in desperation to save his clan."

The history of triceratons video i mentioned at the start, mentions that the trikes were created inspired by samurai in the real world. Now, they dont have a source listed, but let's assume this is true.

Samurai were a thing from around 1000 to 500 years ago. Roughtly from the Heian period (700 - 1180 AD) to the Sengoku period (1467-1457). At least the traditional samurai we know of. 1586 and onwards, up to 1853 the samurai way basically died out.

That's a lot like the Krang's first attempt of invasion, as a catalyst. And in the end, the birth of the Shredder.

Trikes.. being a reference to samurai... in rise..... like they might not be actual stand ins to samurai in the Rise universe, but the years/eras match so uh, most likely inspired. Drawn parallels even.

I do wonder how all this came to be though. If trikes were involved, were they aliens to the Rise world, or were they part of Yokai kind? If they were Yokai, did they leave Earth? Became foreign to their own home? It would be interesting to play with this, with them being native, considering they're straight up triceratops. Even more if one were to implement Mirage ideas where there are other ceratopsians represented in their midst. Would they still have mystics? Would their culture have forgotten? Would they resent the krang keeping one of theirs as a tool? Would they be hostile? I wonder.

inspired by @vulstare 's style (her spirit possessed me), and thinking again about triceratons and the glimpse we had of their size in rottmnt.. i needed to draw a comparison

If the movie's villain was the krang, and Leo was the focus, i can think of the krang being some sort of narrative foil to Leo. So if there was a continuing trend, who would the triceratons be the foil to? i heard compelling arguments to raph, but im willing to hear more thoughts.

It's time for another TMNT OC!! This time, it's one of the main 5, that being Maxx!

Now, I'm still getting used to drawing Triceratons( there are still some trials and errors), but I think drawing Maxx has helped me improve a bit, particularly with the head and hands since that's usually where I struggle with the most( Turns out hands are hard to draw no matter what the species 😅)

But enough of my drawing difficulties, onto some of Maxx's info/ Fun facts thing( I should really make a full bio for him and everyone else)

- Maxx not only wants to find his father, but he also wants to explore Earth more.

- Being on Earth has also allowed him to be more himself rather than what other Triceratons are expected to be( which is mainly being big, gruff, and intimidating)

- His NS Atmo-Cloak( the watch device on his wrist) was first made by Triceraton Scientists as a way for both soldiers and citizens to survive on other planets without the need for helmets, though it didn't have the ability to cloak the wearer and it was dubbed the NS Atmo-Verter. The cloaking feature was added after he became friends with Jaymie and Louroi and his then damaged Atmo-Verter was taken and upgraded to the NS Atmo-Cloak by a unknown scientist who worked with the Purple Dragons( He later found out that it was Mickito who fixed it). He also always has the charger and a backup NS Atmo-Cloak in his bag for when it's low on battery/the first one is damaged.

- He absolutely adores singing and music, as well as acting. He wasn't really allowed to express his love for them back on the Triceraton Homeworld due to other males his age thinking they were weak and dishonorable.

- He actually inherented his freckles/spots from his grandmother( Mozar's late wife) via generation skip( Which explains why Morraxx doesn't have them).

- He cherishes his father's necklace more than anything since it was the last thing he gave to Maxx before he left to fight in the Invasion, promising him he would return safe and sound.

That's all the fun facts I'm willing to share about Maxx for now since I do want to make a full bio for him and my other tmnt ocs.

And yes, since posting Morraxx's ref, I finally found a font that matched the font in the TMNT 2003 character sheet! It took some searching, but I finally found one, and it looks good.

Also that little green footprint next to his left hand isn't an error, it's actually my new signature, I figured I'd finally make one since we're currently in the age where art theft is rampant and used for AI slop, so I figured I'd finally make one. It probably should be bigger and more clear, but it'll do for now.

Hopefully you guys enjoy Maxx, I had a lot of fun making him since he's my very first Triceraton. And Hopefully I get my other OCs out by at least the end of next year.

Triceraton height guesstimate

I went back to the Rottmnt movie for the umpteenth time to get some screenshots of Krang one's mech suit for drawing references when I got a glimpse of the Triceraton skull Krang One uses as a throne. And that got me thinking, How tall would the Triceratons have had to be in order to match their absolutely huge skulls?

After doing some guesstimating with Leo and Krang one as a reference to compare heights, and using the 2k3 TMNT Triceratons. I have gotten some numbers. Probably not accurate at all, but it's all in the name of fun xD

So. Leo is 1.65m or 5'5" in canon height. Krang one's guesstimated height is about 7.15m or 23'5". (Does he have a canon height??) Triceraton's height I'm guessing is around 55.2 meters or 181'1". That's my take on it at any rate. Do with this information as you'd like 😂

On another note. How the shell were the boys supposed to fight those monsters??? Like holy shell. Donnie would have had to get uranium and make them mech suits or something, yikes, terrifying just thinking about it.... And does the skull throne mean that the Krang have already killed off the Triceratons? Or is that just a hunting price?? Who knows, it's an interesting thought none the less.

Also if the Krang actually has managed to kill off this gigantic alien race, that makes them all the more terrifying an enemy... food for thought.
