Sometimes, she catches it in his eyes ~ a flicker of something unspoken. Other times, it’s the quiet stillness in him, the way he lingers in thought after a long, heavy day. She’s learned to listen not just to his words but to the silence between them. To sense when his spirit is tired, when the weight he carries presses just a little too hard.

In those moments, she becomes his refuge ~ the warmth he can exhale into, the softness he doesn't have to be strong around. Loving him means holding the space where his soul can rest. And being that for him... means everything.

a red flag about me: i think my biggest red flag is that i never really know how to talk about my feelings. when i'm going through something, i tend to stop talking to everyone until i feel okay again. i have a lot of conversations with myself in my head about how i feel, and i explain it so well there - but getting it to actually come out of my mouth is so hard. once i feel okay, i'll start communicating again as if nothing happened. it's not that i'm being distant with you; i just process things better when i'm alone.
