You wanted him to be the one to ask first, but you had gathered that he really doesn't know the concept of "courting", so you had to take the lead.
Not that you minded, though
the way he gave you that blank face for a second before it became a big, fanged smile, made your heart melt into goo
Even though you asked, he was the one that wanted to plan out the date. He wanted to use his knowledge from the "sacred texts" and you woo you with all his might!
When the day of the date finally came, Veldora came knocking on your door, wearing a tight fitting suit, flowers in one hand and that big fanged smile that you adores so much
You giggle at his prideful grin, taking the flowers from him, saying you will put them in a vase before leaving for the date
Once done, Veldora confidently takes you hand takes you into town, showcasing a new restaurant with exotic food. He places you in your seat and sits across from you.
Now, you don't seem to notice, but Veldora is beyond nervous, he's just hiding it extremely well.
He doesn't want to mess up, so he keeps remembering back to the texts that he saw in Rimuru's memories, following them to a T. It's not what he would do, no he would show you how strong he is by hunting strong game and giving it to you as a present.
He doesn't see the point of the flowers or the suit, but you liked it so it didn't matter, he supposes.
He watches as you eat your meal, him scarfing his down until it was gone.
Good, everything seems to be goin well, we would tell himself, his heart pounding in his chest as you smiled at him.
He likes you so much, the way you laugh, the way you smile, the way you can match him in a game of wits. He didn't want mess this date up at all.
He became unaware of your stares as he sank deeper into his own thoughts. Touching his hand, you got his attention and asked what was wrong.
Though his pride says to not say anything, that everything was fine, he didn't want to lie so you said his concerns. How he hoped that the date wasn't bad and that he was doing it right.
You laughed, squeezing his hand, reassuring you the date was great, and not because it was the gifts or the venue. No, it was because it was Veldora that asked you on the date.
Feeling much better about the situation, veldora abruptly gets out of his seat and kisses you right on the lips in excitement. Giggling, you kissed him back.
You knew you made the right decision when you asked him out.
