So I think it would be interesting letting the tuffles have their own language, the namekians get one and people let the saiyans have one, so why not let the tuffles have one too?

I plan on using that idea in a fic later, but here me out here: using Latin as the language of the tuffles actually works quite well

What do you think about the Tuffles/Tsufurujins? Do you have any headcanons about them?

I don't actually have any specific headcanons about them!

I do generally subscribe to the basic lore that the saiyans did not originate from Vegeta-sei/Planet Vegeta, though. That they conquered it after coming from somewhere else.

I made up...a ton of lore concerning this, but to go in-depth about it would involve a lot of spoilers for my pre-DBZ fic, so...

But! There's a lot to wonder about: If saiyans didn't come from Vegeta-sei and had to conquer another planet, why did they do so? Did something happen to their original home? Were they abused or enslaved by someone else like they were by Freeza? Were they just greedy and bloodthirsty and liked another planet more? Lots of interesting things to play with here!

In my own head, I like to think that, wherever they originally came from, the first Super Saiyan helped them defeat their enemies and establish a home of their own. Maybe this has happened a few times throughout history, even! Perhaps saiyans evolved from a small population that was taken from one planet and wandered space, adapting to become strong, until one of them transformed and helped them find a planet of their own.

I'd love to hear other people's headcanons!

King Vegeta Headcanons (AU)

King Vegeta was great Father to Vegeta. Held him, a higher him and even played with him when he could.

He was a good kind and fair ruler and hated when Frieza named the planet after him as a gawker sense of “respect” but also he thought it was obnoxious and disrespected the fallen Tuffles.

He loved both of his sons and sent tarble away to save his life (based on another Headcanon I have)

He would often hold and snuggled Vegeta at night not because Vegeta was scared but because he knew under Frieza anything could happen and he wanted to hold onto his son as much as possible and even cry holding him.

He fell in love with a Tuffle before the saiyan/Tuffle war (in my headcanon their normal sized ) Tonna (OC) . She was a scientist he helped save form a beast near the mountain where she was out camping . She unfortunately died against the rouge saiyans attempting to destroy the Tuffles (based on anther au Headcanon I have )

He feel in love again with Riitta (“lettuce in Japanese she’s not my OC but an existing one in the fandom idk who form but she’s got fanart of her out there)

He attempted to teach Vegeta about honor and respect and their saiyan heritage but their new oppression by and the cast system of strength imposed by Freida had its influence on him as well, but he was never bratty or mean around his father.

He personally chosen Napa to be Vegeta body guard because he as good with kids and very strong and a skilled fighter.

He felt such guilt after Frieza came into power and many saiyan lives lost under his leadership and unable to do anything and scared his son would be taken away from him., but it only made him more determined to end Frieza reign of terror on them.

I dunno if I'm making too much of a big deal about this, but I feel like the anime in particular is heavily biased towarda the Tuffles when it comes to the Saiyan-Tuffle War. The Tuffles are portrayed as weak and not liking conflict, while the Saiyans are ruthless barbarians who kill everythjng. Thanks to expanded material, we know that isn't the case and that Saiyans, even on Planet Vegeta, are capable of being more than what the others view them as.

I don't know if I'm mis-remembering, but I don't think we know the reason as to why the Saiyan-Tuffle War even started? The way the anime portrays it, it's like the Saiyans just decided "fuck it, let's slaughter the Tuffles".

I know DBZ isn't necessarlly the deepest anime and manga, but I would've expectsd something better than that.

Well, strictly speaking, the old filler stuff was trying to hammer home exactly how bloodthirsty the Saiyans were, but IIRC, it did also seem the Tuffles looked down on Saiyans as well for being primitive. Either way, newer stuff kind of clears that up real quick, since the Saiyans actually came from another world they destroyed due to internal conflict, found a new planet, exterminated the Tuffles, and took it as Planet Vegeta.

ARE WE TALKING PAN???? God pan has so much character potential. Like in any direction you take her, being a “3rd generation hybrid” leads to so much to work with

pan is absolutely fascinating to me, just from a purely scientific viewpoint. bc there are so few saiyans left that it’s almost impossible to draw a solid conclusion about the whole species (and the ones that are left were all outliers to begin with)

but then you have the gohan and pan, who are especially interesting, because generally male hybrids are infertile - if a lion and a tiger have a kid, the female liger might be able to reproduce, but all male ligers so far have been infertile. but pan is living proof that that’s not always the case - gohan is quite clearly not infertile, pan quite clearly happened.

all of that leads to even further revelations about the saiyans - like it kinda implies that saiyans aren’t actually that far removed from humans.

moreover, the relatively short known history of the saiyans and the only race we know they associated with before getting involved in planet-theft (the tuffles) could lead to some pretty interesting implications.

anyway this is a really roundabout way of saying that pan’s existence could lead the gang to discover that saiyans and humans are so compatible bc the tuffles just abducted some primates and genetically modified them

given that the earliest known saiyans appear a little under a thousand years bg (before goku), and assuming that if they’d had enough time to establish themselves then they’d been around for a few thousand years prior to that, it’s completely possible that the primates in my theory were early homo sapiens or possibly archaic humans of some form, along with some other strands of hominid, which is where the tail and ōzaru form come from.

it’d also explain certain other inaccuracies or improbabilities away, such as saiyan tails jutting straight out of their lower backs instead of where a regular tailed creature’s would be, implying a relocated tailbone or rearranged vertebrae. it could also explain why so many aliens exhibit behaviors that don’t really make sense for non-earthlings to have - the tuffles carted them across the universe, and humans are naturally curious creatures so they just. interacted with people.

granted, there’s not really any canon evidence to back this theory up, but i’ve been thinking about it for a while now and frankly all i truly need is access to wikipedia and an imagination.
