My Favourite TV Characters.

CHARACTER: Zelda Spellman

PLAYED BY: Miranda Otto

SHOW: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018-2020)

One of Sabrina's aunts, Zelda is the disciplinarian. She is a proud, authoritative, intense, stern and a devout Satanist and high ranking member of the Church of Night. She embodies the look and style of old Hollywood glamour, always looking fabulous. Her old fashioned and strict ways often make her clash with her free spirited sister Hilda, usually ending with Zelda killing her before bringing her back to life. From a devout member of the Church of Night to High Priestess, Zelda Spellman is a dark, and yet empathic character. Her love and loyalty for her family definitely comes first though.

Played by the extraordinary actress Miranda Otto, this version of Zelda Spellman, although not the original, is absolutely incredible.

A talented girl that hasn’t yet come out of her shell. Praised highly when she was younger but now she’s hit the real world, the tough reality of fame is hitting her hard. She wants nothing more than appreciation and recognition. Her magic allows her to hijack televisions and tell the world about her. The stations are hunting her down but she’s happy with the attention, uncaring if it’s good or bad.

CHARACTER: Tissaia de Vries

PLAYED BY: MyAnna Buring

SHOW: The Witcher (2019 - )

Tissaia de Vries is a very powerful and complex sorceress. She is a mentor to Yennifer and is the rectoress of the Aretuza (magic academy). She may be very stern and strict, but she is this way with the best intentions. She cares deeply for her students and for the Aretuza, and will do what ever it takes to protect them.

Tissaia is a character I absolutely adore, she is ideal for My Favourite TV Characters, a strong, powerful and beautiful woman, plus her magical abilities are an added bonus.

Played beautifully by MyAnna Buring, Tissaia de Vries is an incredible character.

CHARACTER: Queenie

PLAYED BY: Gabourey Sidibe

SHOW: American Horror Story (2011 - )

Queenie is a powerful witch with a unique and dangerous dual-heritage, as a descendant of Tituba, a witch from the Salem Trials as well as possessing voodoo abilities. Queenie is intelligent, confident, assertive and protective of her sister witches. She is one of the more powerful witches, mastering five of the Seven Wonders as well as her main ability of Injury Transference aka Human Voodoo Doll.

Played by the incredibly talented Gabourey Sidibe, I believe Queenie was such a good character that she appeared in three seasons of American Horror Story.

CHARACTER: Jennifer Kale

PLAYED BY: Sasheer Zamata

SHOW: Agatha All Along (2024)

From one of, if not the best Marvel projects, Agatha All Along, Jennifer Kale is a beautiful, talented, powerful but magically bound witch. She is beautiful, elegant, confident, sarcastic and a little abrasive. I sure do love me a powerful witch.

Played to perfection by comedian Sasheer Zamata, I truly look forward to what Jennifer Kale does in the future of the MCU.
