“Hey, we noticed there’s a distinct gap between the average wages of this minority group based on their gender identities that we can’t ignore, and this ‘just so happens’ to correlate with the established gender pay gap between other ‘real’ men and women…maybe this suggests that trans women are actually disenfranchised by being treated as women in a material way—?”
“No actually it’s because I’ve decided they’re all retarded sluts who are too degenerate and socially inept to hold a real job, let alone a real place in society lol.”
River Grunfeld, infamous “ex-tgirl” who just wrote an article about how utterly offensive it was to be called a “robot” by a fellow autistic person: “Yeah that seems legit.”
[‼️ long post ‼️]
one thing I want to stop seeing in fandom is this:
“Here is character with PTSD! This gives them a few social disorders (?) and they have separation anxiety, are extremely anxious when love interest is around other people, and show basic trauma responses to things. I ship them with other guy! ^-^”
“YOU SICK FUCK THIS IS TOXIC!!1!!!111!!!!!!! FIRST OF ALL THIS CHARACTER IS IRREDEEMABLE FOR THEIR MENTAL PROBLEMS!!!!1!11! THEY SHOULD NEVER HAVE A NORMAL RELATIONSHIP EVER AND CAN’T SO NEVER SHIP THEM WITH ANYONE >:(”
[more under cut]
First. DO I SMELL ABLEISM???
Are you saying that a character in fiction can’t be granted the same privilege of a real person to connect with others romantically or platonically for that matter, because they exhibit mental health issues? Are you for real? Are you dehumanizing people with PSTD? Think about that, because it’s messed up.
People with Social Anxiety Disorder, such as myself can exhibit non-healthy reactions to their friends or partners interacting with others.
People can experience separation anxiety for sometimes, what seems like no reason.
People can get affected by PTSD everyday, and you’re saying that people with mental health issues that can give you generally negative character traits shouldn’t be able to form interpersonal relationships?
Don’t tell me “it’s just fiction-” because sometimes the ship might not be canon. not only are characters in fiction not having a romantic connection with another, you can’t stand for someone letting the person have the connection. That’s fucked up honestly.
We need more depictions of growth and forming relationships (platonic and romantic) in media, and this is why. Some people are dehumanizing people with mental health and it’s not okay.
(Thanks for reading my spiel. I’m happy you got to the end. :D)
Me listens to an audio this fits those two nicely and it can count as a mini lore drop
Brain have they fucked
Me probably atleast once and like it would have to be after awhile in their relationship so there's the emotional connection via friendship and putting up with eachothers bs
Brain but they're in a bought soul deal but luc is technically Damian's boss but Damian is also a whole ass demon who has claim on Luc's soul would that make it less ok
Me both seperatly put each in position of power over the other but then does it make it that neither has power over the other outside of their contract but with the public eye of the story are secretly engaged/married/ having an affair (none of which are correct) because Damian is often Luc's 'arm candy' at events Because Luc doesn't want the high society assholes to realize his eye patch is for practical reasons not fashion or that he's actually disabled and has been his entire career because In the eyes of the hospital system he's not as he got treated by doc
Today I used a wheelchair to get around because I sprained my ankle and couldn't walk well and the amount of people staring and in one instance even pointing at me was absolutely awful. I would meet their eyes when they stared and they immediately chose to break eye contact. At best today was a minor inconvenience for me but man its a gross feeling that people treat each other like this
