Continued from here (I had this part written already when I posted the last part 😅)
TW: Mouth whump, mouth stitched closed, eyes stitched closed, temperature whump, cold, sensory deprivation
Civilian felt a little warmth drift into the room— felt the vibrations of the door closing and heavy footsteps crossing the floor. They whimpered a little, shifting backwards as the footsteps approached them.
A hand fell on their shoulder, holding them still as another hand went to their ears. Civilian was confused. The hands didn't feel like Villain's, but... who was it then? Whoever it was pulled part of the cotton out of Civilian's ear, but not enough to make a difference. Civilian jerked away, tears starting to stream down their cheeks from closed eyes as a thumb ran across the stitches through their lips.
The person let them go for a moment, but Civilian flinched, struggling as featherlight touches ghosted across their arms and then someone started to untie them.
This wasn't right. Villain wouldn't let anyone else do this— wouldn't let anyone else touch them at all.
As soon as their hands were freed from behind them, Civilian's hands flew to their face instinctively to touch the stitches closing their mouth and eyes, but strong hands grabbed theirs before they could. Their hands were pushed back down.
They tried again, but their hands were caught again, gently forced back behind their back, and tied again— but this time much looser than before and only in one place.
Civilian breathed in a shaky breath, pulling against the knot a little.
They were pulled to their feet, whimpering and then humming in fear as they were lifted off the ground into strong arms. They twisted and struggled, but the person held them firmly.
Hero carried Civilian out of the room. Civilian stopped struggling when they realized they wouldn't be able to escape, but their body was rigid in Hero's arms. They were so tense they were trembling, occasionally letting out a hum of fear— wordless pleas for mercy, Hero was sure. But leaving them here would be no mercy.
"It's alright. You're safe with me." Hero said, even though they knew Civilian couldn't hear them with the cotton in their ears.
Hero carried them out of the base, into the sunlight outside. Civilian started to squirm a little again when they were brought outside.
"Who's that?" Asked Sidekick as Hero got in the back of the car with Civilian. "And... holy shit, are they okay?"
"Their name's Civilian. I think. Villain had notes about them plastered all over their computer. I know the plan was to just get Villain's hard drive, but I had to look around and see if I could find the person the notes were talking about." Hero put Civilian in the seat next to them. "And... I think they were that reporter who came to our base?"
"Do you think they were tortured for information?" Sidekick started driving.
"I think they were tortured for fun." Hero placed a hand on Civilian's shoulder, causing them to flinch as Hero looked over the stitches closing their eyes and mouth. "Poor thing... I'm going to call our med team to have them ready when we get back."
