I am sure there are 4000 of these floating around tumblr, but I had to state this on my own beyond a reblog.

The state of the country I live in is disgusting and while I am not in a place to accurately articulate my words nor in a place I feel I can talk about it without risking that I am talking over others that have a more valuable voice, I must say this at least with the platform I have.

I prefer to avoid showing my strongly opinionated opinions here, but if you don’t support Black Lives Matter in the wake of current situations, then we do not stand with you.

If anyone knows ways that we can help without money or leaving the house to protest (we are the at-risk party and Covid-19 is still a risk here), please do tell me / share it with me. It is killing me to not go out and join.

In case anyone in Australia thought that our cops were even remotely ok. They aren’t. Police Kettled a bunch of peaceful protestors in Sydney central station and then pepper-sprayed them. We aren’t guiltless and this isn’t ok. Black lives matter everywhere. I know it’s easy on Tumblr especially to focus on what’s going on in countries like the US and the UK - it’s easy to get swept up in the noise and the outrage at how people in other countries are struggling and sympathy for them, but remember that we also have our own battles to fight. We aren’t guiltless. Keep an eye on the news, and on social media, listen to other people’s points of view, try to get all the information and then make up your own mind. I’ll be making a few more posts like this - and trying to post more Australia - centric news. Idk if there are any Aussies that follow me, but I think it’s important that this is talked about here, since I haven’t seen anything about this so far. It may just be the people I follow.

I want to say so much.

Let me start with.... I live in Louisville, Kentucky. I have been in the room where one of the photos of Breonna Taylor commonly seen was taken. It's a room the city uses for official functions.

As much as I want to, I can't say exactly who I am related to. Because I thoroughly disagree with his fascistic ideas, and because he is a public figure, I could be a potential target for right wing doxxing.

The only reason I am not and have not been in the protests in Louisville these past few days is because I have a daughter, who is very young. My fiance and I don't want her to potentially lose us, but we want to do what we can.

In that vein, please please please.... If you cannot attend protests for health or other reasons, donate supplies or money. Pay attention to what is going on. Do not forget and do not forgive.

This is going to be hard fought, but we are going to change things.

Black lives matter.

Justice for George Floyd.

Justice for Breonna Taylor.

Justice for every person of color who has been murdered by cops.

Justice for every person of color who has experienced overt racism in this shithole country.

Hey guys, I hope this finds you well! Writing isn't really happening lately. I had some posts I managed to respond to. They're queued at 1x per day so I don't completely disappear. My anxiety level is higher, so please know as you guys respond, I'll like the post and likely draft it when I get on my pc thereafter. While turnaround will be longer, I haven't forgotten or dropped any threads yet. So don't think I'm ignoring you. I'm just working on me, and what I can contribute to society right now.
