i had a longer post for this because im so pissed at the people yelling “but what about the employees!! what about the businesses!!1!” talking about the looting going on as if its not an excuse to be racist about the protests but i’ll just say this: a brand or business is not a human frigging life you absolute morons. in what world is a stolen candle or a broken window equivalent to a human life being stolen because of racism???? are you dumb stupid or both?????? a human life stolen from the very people who swore to protect them, a-fucking-gain, because of the institutional racism so deeply ingrained into our systems. if looting is more blasphemous to you then black people being literally murdered by cops then you’re part of the fucking problem.

Hi everyone, not my usual post, but I would just like to ask everyone to stay safe and stay inside. There are people armed with guns and all sorts of weapons in different states, like Indiana, Minesota, California and many neighboring states, just to name a few.

What's happened to Jerusalem?

I'm really sorry I didn't see this last week! I didn't get the notification at all.

so basically it's a very controversial situation right now, and I'll try to be fair in my judgment.

there's a neighbourhood in Jerusalem called sheikh jarrah, where Muslims live. around 2 weeks ago the Israeli government issued a warning for them to leave their homes. (those homes belong to Jews before the Arabs rented the houses from them.) now technically, the houses belong to the Jews because they only lended them to the Arabs, but they lived there for such a long time that it was really unfair for them to make them leave their homes.

because of this, on Jerusalem day, there began riots in the streets, fueled by the positioning of one far-right Knesset member's (like Parliament member) office in sheikh jarrah. on eid al fitr these riots escalated and now, two weeks later, we're in the middle of another military operation, ALONG with lynches being committed across the entire country. it became dangerous for either Arabs or Jews to go out.

this is why the situation really saddened me. I hope I answered your question, if you have more, shoot them my way. I tried to stay very detached in my answer.

I am sure there are 4000 of these floating around tumblr, but I had to state this on my own beyond a reblog.

The state of the country I live in is disgusting and while I am not in a place to accurately articulate my words nor in a place I feel I can talk about it without risking that I am talking over others that have a more valuable voice, I must say this at least with the platform I have.

I prefer to avoid showing my strongly opinionated opinions here, but if you don’t support Black Lives Matter in the wake of current situations, then we do not stand with you.

If anyone knows ways that we can help without money or leaving the house to protest (we are the at-risk party and Covid-19 is still a risk here), please do tell me / share it with me. It is killing me to not go out and join.
