My mom just really refuses to admit that she gave birth to a disabled person lmaoo. She’s soo ableist omg
Like basically unless you are just really really really far on the spectrum or you have a visibility, noticeable disability she assumes someone is able bodied
And by god you could never get her to admit her own kid is autistic enough that working is difficult.
I was talking to her about how even if I invested in getting an autism evaluation without health insurance, it wouldn’t do me any good as far as getting disability because the college money my grandfather left me would prevent me from qualifying for disability assistance. Bc my country hates poor people
And she was like “I dont think you’d qualify for disability either, you have to be like [our family friend’s] autistic kid who can’t even function”
and I am like I HAVE SEVERE EXECUTIVE DYSFUNCTION AND PROBABLY HAVE BOTH ADHD AND AUTISM THAT HAVE BEEN UNTREATED MY ENTIRE LIFE AND IT HAS HELD ME BACK FROM EXECUTING MY CREATIVE IDEAS TO MY FULL POTENTIAL FOR YEARS!!!! I ALSO CANNOT FUNCTION
