Monarch Destino: It seems you misunderstood. I want to bring my kingdom to a place where it can thrive. It’s not in there yet. My subjects are starving. We have never been able to get enough to feed everyone. We have no space to harbour all of these Pokémon. We’ve had to put rules in place to limit the number of children every Pokémon can have. I don’t want us to be living like this anymore.

Monarch Destino: If I have to use force to get Pokémon like you to understand my cause, I will not hesitate to take action. Even with my subjects, it is a necessary evil. Especially considering how I once was. They never would have listened to my former self. So I needed to become stronger. Colder. Chi-Chi the princess of Fire Mountain and the daughter of the Ox-King had heard dark tales about the infamous Monkey King of the West. Tales speak about of his unimaginable power and his tyrannical reign over the entire western side who fear, hate, and respect him as he was too powerful to be defeated in combat. She had heard of their tales. How they filled her very soul with fear and loathing with the tyrannical fiend and how she vow she would become stronger and end his reign of terror once and for all...

...and yet here she is, Chi-Chi wearing her mother's old wedding dress, holding a bouquet of flowers in her hands, staring at the old stern-faced priest, and standing next to the Monkey King of the West, whom will be her husband.

Her husband who was by far the most handsomest man alive with his wild black hair, chiseled face, onyx eyes, and powerful build that radiates raw masculinity and strength...and the tyrannical bastard who turned his onyx gaze at her and flashed her a cruel, dark yet charming smile that made her looked away with a blush she would deny she had to the man.

'Why couldn't he be some ill-mannered, wizened old bastard rather than a young, charming, and handsome bastard who was making me feel so much conflicitng feeling for!?' Chi-Chi thought in dismay as she cannot decide that she should hate him or love him...

Arthur had always been different.

Not quirky different or just socially awkward, mind you. No, Arthur started out as a vicious little child and grew into an even more vicious teen. He was always considered the bad seed in his family, so they were relieved when the royal guards arrived to pick him up thanks to a simple birthmark staining his skin. They didn't care what the reason was. Anything to get him out of their hair. Rectifying his behaviour would be somebody else's problem now.

Though Arthur took etiquette classes, their teachings only contributed to a misleading mask that made him even harder to deal with. He ascended the throne still terrible as ever, his tyrannical rule now everybody's problem.

His favourite pastime? Coming up with creative ways to punish those who couldn't live up to his unreasonable demands.

Arthur's personal guards, Ludwig and Gilbert, dealt with this on a regular basis, as Arthur liked going out of his way to make their job difficult – to better train them, he claimed. The cooks, Lovino and Francis, had to bend over backwards to satisfy whatever craving Arthur had on a whim, be it special tarts containing some rare ingredient or the perfect unbirthday cake to suit his mood. Alfred, the court jester, got away with the most, but even he was kept on a tight leash.

In spite of these inconveniences, they were considered somewhat lucky to be amongst Arthur's favoured servants – compared to others, failing to live up to expectations was much less likely to result in not being allowed to live, period.

They were amusing to him, and he had no desire to part with a good source of amusement. Unfortunately, this did not always reassure them. Due to their frequent contact with Arthur, they were subject to scrutiny and ridiculous "tests" more than most, and Arthur's moods really could be unpredictable.

Every day meant keeping on their toes.
