The marissa / rya n story line is that they're attracted to each other but mariss a is like what I can t like a girl I'm not gay. all the same kinda beats play out, the model home, the Cotillion, the luke stuff,the TJ trip WITH THE HOLDING EACH OTHER WHILE THEY SLEEP but they're JUST REALLY GOOD FRIENDS who ALMOST KISS like every episode and marissa always gets overwhelmed and runs away (just like normal Lol) 

And basically this whole time we know ryan is a lesbian but MARISSA DOESN'T bc ryan is very taciturn but Ryan thinks that everyone Kinda Knows she's not keeping it a secret more th an any other thing but it's not like she's a n open book all the time but like her and Seth talk about girls and her and Teresa are obviously ex gfs but MARISSA is CLUELESS bc she's so heteronormatively programmed and also scared

MOVE THE ALEX STUFF UP TO THE END OF SEASON ONE
