I’m the poison in your bones - Una'to (because I'm terrible and the dumb blood experiments)

The Miqo’te had no doubt picked one of the worst times to attempt to badger the voidsent. In fact... Una’to was about to be privy to the changes that had been recently done with Toshinaku’s sigils and his form overall, he was teeming with an overabundance of energy and aether. It was likely the reason why Una’to had found him to begin with... the Voidsent having gone up to a particular rooftop and just stretching out his massive form under the moonlight as he stared up at the sky. Lost completely in thought until the Keeper made his presence known.

His appearance like this was... different than the last time Una’to had seen it. Granted, when Una’to had seen this form being taken he was a mess so of course it would be different. The size was one thing that would be easily noticeable because with how those long snake coils were sprawled out it could be seen that his form was easily another ten or so fulms long. The scales also had a different sheen to them, while before they had that nice pastel iridescence that came with most white scales on snakes... this time they had a slightly silvery hue to them alongside those pastels and each scale was outlined with gold. His eyes were also blazing with a purple hue and the glow was actually concealing his eyes so he basically looked like he had one solid block of color for his eyes now.

Slowly his attention turned towards Una’to and Toshi would carefully lift himself up, a quiet hiss of warning coming out of him as he stared at the Keeper. He was not in the mood for their usual games... he was not in the mood to deal with the Keeper taunting and jabbing at him. Not after having had to deal with Tesni’s current situation and attempting to figure out how he could save his beloved from the Voidsent that was walking around in his body... “I’m in no mood to deal with your games Una’to...” he let out, his tone flat... and obviously a sign of something being very off... “What do you want?”

@unatobajhiri - Have a very angry and pissy Toshi who is also a bit super powered right now and doing his best to hide out in Ul’dah without being seen. Spoilers he is on the roof that he was on with Tesni in the Starwatching RP >v> so he’s likely very well out of sight right now.

@unatobajhiri​ is such a wonderful and talented person who I am so deeply lucky to have in my life now. They are such a wonderful friend and I cannot thank them enough for just being here and putting up with my weird shenaningans. So... I’m gonna yeet one of the Screenshots they took (Which I think is just about everyone’s favorite that has seen it so far >.>) because they went to bed and didn’t post it obviously!

Jac and Una’to resting and a certain dergin giving all the happy purrs and headbonk snuggles because he really does enjoy spending all the time he can with Una’to. And honestly, I think this image captures just how Jac is with the people that he truly does love and hold deep bonds with.

10. What was the hardest lesson they had to learn as they got older?

That despite everything, despite his unwavering loyalty and years of service to the Empire as a soldier and a spy and despite that he fully embraces the public views and ideals of the Empire and strives to uphold them, that he is still seen as little better than a savage by most of his peers and superiors. He can work to be the ideal model of an Imperial, the ideal model of a conquered person striving to do right by the Empire, but the simple facts of being born in Ala Mhigo and being a miqo’te will always cause others to look down on him, no matter what he does.

It doesn’t stop him though, he will still work and fight for the better of the Empire, no matter what. It’s all he has.

Something Truly Awful

The sneer that formed over the Voidsents features as Una’to gave him that slow clap... it almost felt as though the Keeper was doing it in an attempt to mock him. And why wouldn’t he be mocking him... after all he certainly seemed to thrive off of tormenting the Au Ra so why not mock him over the fact that he had legs that so many would be envious of “I am pretty sure that without my legs I would still get plenty of attention. Especially since the main attraction seems to simply be my scales in most cases... and those are shared with this form and that of my true self...” the Au Ra muttered out before he snorted softly “Other talents such as being an annoyance to the masses?”

At least the conversation didn’t linger long... he hated whenever attention was generally brought to him having legs. Mostly because he hated having legs and he felt that they were the most disgusting thing that he could ever be cursed with. He missed having his tail and more natural form... he missed being able to just... lounge and relax... to stretch out and... yeah no sense dwelling on those thoughts because if he did then he would be more than wanting to try and fight the seals once again so that he could enjoy the moments he could with his true form. Though he did look back up towards Una’to again, scoffing ever so slightly “And if you ever decide that you are too bored or simply do not tell the full story in one seating what then? Would someone have to barter more to earn the rest from you? The fact that you would see stories as a currency though amuses me...” he paused as he said that “But I suppose that’s a good thing since money for some could prove to be quite difficult to provide...” Toshi remarked before he fell silent. Una’to’s words certainly hit the right mark there... and given that he wasn’t able to truly hide it well, the Voidsent simply shrugged “Some ghosts are not really ghosts at all...” he left his remark at that, not denying nor confirming what the Keeper had said, though it should be more than obvious that denying such a thing would have been a great attempt at a lie “How I know about such things is my own secret to keep for now... as well as my... interest in your knowledge of Sozoh.”

Toshi fell silent however after that... not wanting to give more and more away even though part of him knew that he had failed somewhat in hiding certain things. He’d let too much spill over, let too much flow freely from him and now he was going to pay the price by no doubt facing question after question. He would have to do his best to dance around them and to try and keep what he knew a true secret if he could... at least the conversation once again shifted in his favor and he did have to let out a low huff at the remark “Any intense emotions will do such things... muddying and clouding one’s thoughts being a big one.” he retorted, at least he was somewhat right on the fact that Una’to was seeking out a cure for whatever it was that cursed him... and hopefully that meant that what he was offering would at least be somewhat enticing for Una’to. Providing him with a means to study things and to see just what his blood did to certain voidsent as well as himself. As Una’to brought up the basics of their little deal he couldn’t help but chuckle out “Whatever Voidsent I can pluck out of the void will be yours to do whatever you wish with.” Toshi let out softly as he looked to the Keeper “And I suppose you are right in that whatever your blood does to me will help give me ideas and potentially aid me with my own goals.” he mused thoughtfully before he sighed out some “The Shroud would be the best for such things when it comes to dealing with creatures of the void. Especially if I end up needing to pull far stronger ones out for us to work with...” and by that he meant things like the higher up Voidsent that were actually more intelligent than the lessers that they were bound to start with... 

He did have to chuckle out softly though “I suppose I’ll keep my feasting on others well and away from you then.” and hopefully those he feasted on were not friends with the Keeper or someone that he knew... but he would do his best to simply keep his own business to himself when he needed to. But of course his emotions for earlier were now catching up to him and of course the thing he feared coming happened. Una’to had picked up on his emotional dip... picked up on that sadness and now the questions were being asked once again. Questions that he did not wish to answer but was no doubt going to have to in order to keep the truth hidden. The keepers words hit him hard and Toshi ground his teeth together... he once loved his mother, not so much now... “I do not know what you are speaking about. I have little reason to love her...” he muttered out coldly... a dark bitterness to his voice as he said that before he met with Una’to’s gaze behind the mask... “Forgotten something...?” he let out with a low hiss, though at the question he sneered. The Keeper was fishing for answers... and he could provide some but he wasn’t going to put out the obvious one... no... “She had four daughters... the eldest of which was known by the name Sizha. The youngest a pair of twins by the names Vekhe and Zahveh...” he had no issue giving out the names of his sisters after all, to most it would seem that the Voidsent had simply been watching them and likely eyeing them to feed on them like so many others did.

“You make an awful lot of anything I feel...” Toshi retorted as he narrowed his eyes... he’d shifted enough so that he could see better and watch the Keeper enjoying his advantage over him. How he taunted him further by hanging there like that... taunting him by being just out of reach. The taunting was annoying but this little shite had some use to him alive so... best to put the thoughts of maiming him out of his mind for the time being. If he proved to be of use then killing him would be... well a problem. The man gritted his teeth ever so slightly as he narrowed his eyes into thin slits “I feel as though I am less pathetic than you...” he muttered out, he wasn’t going to go further with that game. The only reason that Una’to had caught him in such a state was because this time he had no prey to feast on so that he could maintain that form. Not to mention being within the city meant that any prey he could have gotten his hands on would have been noticed far quicker and he’d be caught “A... miscalculation on my part is all that you saw...” he added with a low hiss.

His attention returned to Una’to as he continued to hang... arms folded over his chest as he watched the Keeper more intently. There was just something about those eyes that had a piercing gaze to them... the glow of the limbal rings blocking out their natural color. Toshi listened carefully as Una’to spoke, of course he knew well of Keeper traditions and culture... he had once been one of them after all. Why he kept the Bajhiri name was unknown to him however... perhaps some part of his former self still lived in him. His gaze shifted slightly as he was caught up in thoughts before he snorted out with a huff “I know plenty about Keeper Traditions...” he muttered out softly, hearing the name he was trying to remember if that particular tribe had been one among his dearly departed mothers social circle... probably not but who knew with his mother... “There was a tribe that lived in the denser part of the North Shroud... before it became nothing but a wasteland of death.” slowly his gaze returned to Una’to to watch him again, that was all the information he would give on that particular part of his life. Best to be vague and let this little bastard piece the puzzle pieces together slowly.

At the question Toshi gritted his teeth ever so slightly, annoyed once again and not wanting to delve into the reasons behind his rather... intense outburst towards the name. Now that he wasn’t hissing and growling in anger and not in the mental state of thinking that he’d ended up killing off the majority of the Bajhiri in the shroud well... he didn’t want to go into any details with the Keeper until he truly earned the right to know, which would likely be never “I’ve my reasons and that is all I will say. You’ve not earned any right to know the truth and you likely never will given how much of an annoyance you are...” Toshinaku retorted as he glared up towards Una’to again “You are lucky that I am being this kind to you and talking... but there could be some use to keeping you around... and alive.” as much as he hated to admit that... but he was curious about this curse and the blood... as well as Una’to’s earlier remarks on being born with it and his brothers mistake. He just wasn’t going to ask and simply let it come out if Una’to decided to speak on it further.

Toshi’s attention turned ever so slightly to follow the Keepers gaze and he watched the bile and rot for just a moment or two longer. It had started to bubble and boil a bit... common really for the things that his body did “Curious about why your blood is responding to mine in such a way are you?” he mused before looking up again at Una’to... he was curious himself. Was it because he was truly a being of the void? Or was it something more... considering he’d had such a violent reaction to it he wanted to assume it was because of what he was more than anything else. But he didn’t know enough about Una’to or his cursed blood to be certain of its effects on other creatures of the void... perhaps he could test that with the Keeper in the future. After all, while he his form was sealed away that didn’t mean he couldn’t just pluck a few lesser voidsent out of the void and right into Una’to’s lap for... testing...

“Killing is simply a means to actually getting sustenance for myself...” Toshi retorted in response to the Keepers remark “As for being easily angered... I won’t deny that I do have a... fiery anger when certain things come up.” like a child throwing a tantrum when things did not go his way so to speak...
