Join us in bringing attention to Disability Pride Month and celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Disability Pride is incredibly important, because in a world that's often ignorant or hostile to disabled people's needs, it can be really hard to recognize, advocate for, and receive the accommodations you need to participate fully in society.
@capricorn-0mnikorn's Disability Pride Flag design resonated among our Dreamer Crew and our community, inspiring us to put our thinking caps on.
Our end goal -> Create a damn comfy sock for the folks who the flag represents while staying true to the original flag design. This can be tricky for us, as working with a limited color range can make or break a design, not to mention having diagonal stripes on an L shaped sock.

Disabled activists and allies have put decades of hard work into the progress and visibility we've gained today. Advocacy for the Americans with Disabilities Act - culminating in the Capitol Crawl demonstration in DC - eventually led to the ADA becoming law in 1990, providing aid and removing barriers to entry for people with disabilities from employment, public accommodations and services, transport and telecommunication.
Even as current events show how many challenges still face us, community connections and building on what's come before are going to remain vital in the fight for disability rights.
Disability issues are human rights issues.
The more awareness and visibility we gain, the easier it becomes for all of us to access what we need, from basic necessities, to being able to participate in activities that other people take for granted.

I use Photopea to place gifs in my graphics! You can use it to also assemble your graphic, but I prefer using ibisPaint X since Iโm more familiar with it.
On the home page, you should click โOpen From Computerโ, and upload the graphic you want to add a gif to. I will be using a square frame (credit linked) as the graphic example.
In the top left corner, click โFileโ and โOpenโ, and select your gif. I will be using an ocean gif (credit linked) as the gif example.
On the right of the screen, make sure you have selected the folder for the gif, then click โLayerโ on the top. Change the destination to the graphic you want to add the gif to, then click โOKโ.
It may look something like this (with the GIF above the graphic. Close the folder by clicking the triangle next to the folder icon, and drag it to be below the graphic. (Make sure Auto-Select is off sorry I recently learned this)
Move the gif to fit where you want it to be in your graphic. You can use the squares to change the size of it like other programs.
Just make sure that if you want to squish the gif in some way, you click this chain button near the top.
When youโre done, click โFileโ on the top left, click โExport Asโ on the dropdown menu, and click โGIFโ or whatever other format you want your graphic to be saved as.
If you see this, it means Photopea thinks your GIF (graphic&GIF) is too large. Sometimes you can click โCancelโ and itโll take a bit more time to load before you can download it, but other times it will crash if you click โCancelโ. I recommend you save your graphic and gif separately before exporting it. I think that the biggest size Photopea can handle is around 1500x1500, but you can test and see what works for your particular graphic.
If you click โOKโ, Photopea will downsize your graphic to what it thinks is an appropriate size. You can still change the size of the GIF before you save it, though.
