my queer art from this past year (so far) & their stories!
this was one of my very first drawings centered around good-faith label pride since i had first come out in november of 2024. i had initially experienced a lot of backlash & lost many people i had once considered good friends around this time. feeling a lot of shame, yet optimism, i drew this piece featuring the bi gay flag. though i no longer use the label since discovering gaybian & finding that more fitting, i still love this one! i might consider redrawing it for my coming out anniversary <3
another drawing made in response to my coming out. instead, this one features the colors of the inclusive transfem flag, as i am intersex & often excluded from the label. its simply a reminder that no one has any right to speak over your identity - only YOU know who you are. i may be in a gloomy place, but inside i am beautiful & shining & complex
this one heavily coincided with queer discourse happening at the time, hence the use of the lesboy flag. i feel its common, especially amongst younger queers, to misunderstand what queerness actually is - there are no norms to be established or built up when this community has spent its entire history breaking them down
this one was drawn just after trans visibility day, with a cameo from my cowsona, bear, & our headmate, udo (though, this was drawn before i came out as a system)! from left to right, featured are the pangender, inclusive transfem, xenogender, genderqueer, transfem & intersex trans flags. its certainly uncommon to depict more obscure identities in trans pride art, & this was a means to combat that! celebrate all your trans friends & all trans identities always!!!
another drawing featuring udo before we had come out. obviously featuring the gaybian flag! this was around the time i gained a lot of confidence for my identity, & wanted to make that known! this was also my most popular drawing from 2025 on tiktok at the time, as it garnered a lot of discussion of the label. i ended up educating hundreds, hell even thousands, more on my identity, & i am forever grateful that i have the platform to do so <3
my first pride drawing to actually feature myself! featuring the transfem flag, it serves as a reminder that all transitions are unique! i believe depicting myself here was especially important as i am a masc-presenting transfem gal. you can present or transition however makes you happy, it doesnt make you any less you!
this one was ... deeply controversial to say the least. unfortunately, this drawing fell into the wrong hands, being shared across numerous transmedicalist subreddits & twitter spaces. its still being reposted to those areas as of today. this was meant to be another piece celebrating my masculinity & unconventional appearance as, not just a trans person, but a woman in all regards. i am a fat, hairy woman & i could not be prouder of that fact!!!
this one ended up receiving a lot of comparisons to trans caricatures in those aforementioned spaces, despite it quite literally just being me & how i look. i am in fact a real person, sorry!
simply a response to .. anti-futch discourse? im surprised too, i had no idea how controversial this label was to exclusionists, but i cant say im too surprised. another reminder that no one can tell you who you are, especially a stranger on the internet who has never met you before
could you believe this was another response to discourse? im surprised too /sarc. a common argument against lesboys is the lack of discourse or visibility of turigirls/gaygirls, which only reveals their ignorance of queer history. its true that gaygirls are often underrepresented in online queer spaces, but we are still very real. the lack of discussion revolving around us is simply over the fact that gay separatism doesnt exist, or at least not to the scale of its lesbian equivalent. its all a testament to the importance of visibility
