As you’ve probably noted - if you’ve read this blog very carefully, the Valintatalo at Mäkelänkatu 58-60 changed into a K-Market on the 29th of September, a Thursday.
That day also happened to be the day, I met up with Antti M, and he slammed a bag of bottles into my hand, which we decided to go and return at the new Valintatalo-cum-K-Market. The place was full of people! There was coffee! Juice! Cake! Also competitions a.k.a. bits of paper for inadvertently joining a mailinglist. But there was cake! Did we eat the cake? Yep, we ate the cake. The cake was eaten. The cake is no more. Also, it was delish.
Not quite Raw’n’More cake, but still. Actually, not at all comparable to the magnificent stuff they do at Runeberginkatu 59. You might wanna go there and check it out, they do amazing stuffs.
Anyway, we returned the bottles, exited and walked out. Then we proceeded to open the door, hold it open, and while the door was open, move our feet until we were on the other side of the door. We also decided to leave the inside of the shop, and enter the outside of the shop. And that’s what happened, believe it or not.

I was visited by a dear old friend, who gave me a plastic bag full of bottles. I took them to Valintatalo, while he observed the situation.
Apparently this specific Valintatalo is going to mutate into a K-market come next week’s Thursday. While it exists as Valintatalo (choicehouse?), I managed to score another 0,90€ out of it.
I think I’ll be posting two more receipts today, then I’m calling it a week due to flu + sore throat. Ouch.

The Sörnäinen metro station was feeling extra-super-giving today and sorted me out with quite a few of those bottles and cans. I think most of these were dug out of the Sörnäinen bins and only a few from my trip home to Vuosaari.
We’re slowly progressing towards 85%, and who knows, maybe Sonera will wise up and start a Sonera Upgrade Program for iPhone SE’s too? One can always hope.

While we were already in a good way re: start of the day, this surprise from Antti M was totally unexpected. It’ll be interesting to check out the percentage now!

Valintatalo took us to 455€ and beyond. But not quite to 83%. One day....

I think this was a load that took about two days to accumulate, most of it on Thursday the 4th of August. I was walking around with that plastic bag, and checking out the regular Sörnäinen Metro Station bins and was able to fish out quite a few bottles and cans over the course of my commute to work to Helsingin Työttömät Ry, where I was doing a Wix->Wordpress migration. While I was there at HeTy, I asked some fellow employees for bottles, and ultimately I think I got something like 7-8 different bottles + cans from them. This all turned into a very tidy sum of 2,85€.
But that’s not all, when we start adding it all up, I’ve not only reached post-128€, but post-22%!
125,35€ + 2,85€ = 128,20€! That’s 22,14544826% out of the total sum of 578,90€ that Verkkokauppa currently charges for an Apple iPhone SE 64Gb Space Gray.
Nice! I wonder if 25% is feasible before we escape to Bulgaria for 2 weeks?
