My body since I take sodium divalproate, it needs to take a nap daily. Sometimes I can evade it, but mainly I MUST to do it (like today, I'm going to take one). Sigh. Even if I rested well last night, my body wants to take a nap 🙃😭 and i must obey bc i feel so sleepy and useless without the nap during the day (when I couldn't evade it).

Note: This is a fun drawing featuring Val, the 16-year-old protester, that I drew for my psychiatry rotation. She demonstrates some of the basic facts about valproate, a commonly used anticonvulsant and mood stabilizer.
I’m honestly terrified I’ll have a seizure at my babe’s house next week. I know she’ll be super sweet about it if it happens, but it would still be hella awful. God I hate being epileptic.
On a lighter note, the Depakote seems to be working. I hope it stays that way...

I hate switching psychiatrists so often
So this evening I had an appointment with yet another psychiatrist. The one I was seeing before has a new schedule that doesn't fit mine, after we had built a good relationship. So today I saw this new psychiatrist, at first I didn't trust her because she's younger than me, and I felt she wouldn't have enough experience in psychotic disorders. Anyways, I still went, and I didn't like her at all. She had no charisma, and I didn't trust her. I talked about my self harm but felt she was judginng me. She had my file so she knew my diagnosis, but still she asked me what I thought I had. I said I was first diagnosed with BPD, then bipolar 2 and at the hospital with schizophrenia, but now my diagnosis was schizoaffective, and she said I was probably schizoaffective, becuase if I was purely schizophrenic, I wouldn't be able to work... and I felt like WTF??? When they told me at the hospital I had schizophrenia, the doctors told me that if I was med compliant, i could lead a normal life, work, get married, have kids, etc as long as I was treated with the right meds and therapy. And I trust more those doctors at the hospital than her. I know many schizophrenics are unable to work, but I also know many that do work and study and make a big effort, so it's not impossible. I even read an article about work and schizophrenia that I think I posted here some time ago, that said working was really important for schizophrenic's self-esteem, even if they were only able to work part time. So I don't like she said that. Also, since I told her I was having mood swings, she prescribed me valproic acid (depakote I think it's called?? So if you have any experience on that med, please let me know. If the next appointment I can't trust her enough with my psychotic symptoms or my other symptoms, I'm gonna have to switch to a new psychiatrist with more expertice in psychotic disorders.
