Just trying to figure things out.

Things today are a bit more complicated than when I was a kid.  You tell someone you're going on a date.  Now it's not unusual to be asked if it's a boy or a girl?  The World Health Organization now deems BURNOUT a medical condition.  Wow being Burned Out is a legit illness?  I'm no medical school graduate, but I believe burn out is usually caused by hard work.  (Sorry boss but if I work too hard I'll get sick, aka Burnout.  Let me binge on a couple more episodes of Big Bang Theory on Netflix and I'll get back to work.) Soon we'll be hearing about Stupid Driver Burnout and Idiot Burnout. (Those can be caused by being surrounded by people who I wonder at times if their science experiments.)   Jeez,  now in Washington State it's legalized to do human composting.  Oh yeah, you can use dead bodies to help give those tomato plants a boost during the growing season.  FYI, one body equals about two wheelbarrows of compost.  This gives a whole new meaning to Granny Smith Apples.   I can hear it now; "Yes I'm using Miracle-Gro with the peas and carrots and  I going exclusively with Uncle Lewie compost for the Potatoes.  We got my second cousin Ernesto mingled with the Petunias back near the pool.  You'll notice it smells a bit like Ben Gay.  I'm not sold on this whole human composting thing.  Think about the Grave-Diggers being put out of work. I do see a ton of savings on the cost of a casket and burial plot.  I like the Viking way of burial.  They put the body on a boat and light it on fire and push it out into the open water.  (It could be awkward if the deceased was a burn victim. )  I have to admit I'm not a fan of change.  I still haven't accepted Lucky Charms adding a new marshmallow.   It's already magically delicious, leave it alone.

Viking burials explored at Valhalla exhibition in York

Artefacts and human skeletons found at Viking burial sites go on display later in a major new exhibition in York.

The Valhalla exhibition claims to reveal more about the life of Vikings in Britain and the Isle of Man using the latest forensic techniques.

The York Archaeological Trust display opens at Jorvik Viking Centre.

It is the result of collaborations with York Minster and Manx National Heritage (MNH). Allison Fox, of MNH, described it as "incredibly exciting".

Included in the exhibition is evidence of Viking burials across the British Isles, bringing together key findings and exploring the latest research techniques.

On show are Viking skeletons from the Hungate dig in York and the York Minster stones found in excavations carried out by York Archaeological Trust. Read more.
