Fire
So, starting tomorrow I’m going to be retooling my eating habits (notice I didn’t say going on a diet). In between my narrative essays I’ll be posting practical updates. It’s a shift from my posts so far, but I figure in between all of the ramblings I should engage in some practical efforts to make this worthwhile.
In edition to my complex relationship with food and weight loss I also struggle with some digestive issues. In an effort to both combat those issues as well a shed a few pounds tomorrow will start a bit of a recharge for me. I’ve fueled my fire.
So here’s what I’m doing. In the past I’ve had good luck with the Virgin Diet. It was first recommended to be by my doctor and is essentially an elimination diet that involves cutting out wheat, dairy, sugar, corn, peanuts, soy and eggs. It’s easy for me because out of that list I really only eat sugar.
I’m also going to take a break from coffee and replace it with tea. I will also be using the My Fitness Pal App and website to count calories. This is an important tool for me not only to make sure I don’t overeat, but also that I don’t under eat.
Lastly I’m going to make a point to move more. I’m not going to focus too heavily on an exercise routine just yet. I’m just going to make a point to sneak in some jumping jacks, crunches, and squats throughout the day.
I’m going to get this done. It’s time to stop hiding and regain the power I once had, but hopefully this time it will be the healthy way!
Virgin Diet Day 7
I made through my first week! My psoriasis is significantly reduced, my energy is much more steady, my skin is starting to glow and gaining some healthy colour, and I’ve lost 8 lbs!
I’m going to continue, because I want to keep these great results coming!
Keeping calories low is easy-peasy this way.
Virgin Diet Day 5!
I made it through another day, folks! Yes, made it, though it hasn’t been the greatest since I feel backed up…which I am hoping will clear up by tomorrow. My boyfriend came home and ordered pizza, but I stuck to my guns and didn’t have any. I can have pizza again after this is over…I doubt pizza will disappear from the planet in the next month!
Oh, and today was another under 1500 calories :)
Virgin Diet Day 4
School is nuts right now! study study study...that milk chocolate was still around today, but I managed to avoid the other foods quite easily. Stayed close to 1500 calories...mild headache in the afternoon, rough sleep last night. I would love to sleep better on a consistent basis. Wish me luck!
Virgin Diet, Day 3
OMG...staying in a calorie deficit is so easy this way. I had a headache the first day and a half, but I'm all good now! My mood and energy levels are most notably improved. I went to the gym today, and I feel great :D The Venus Factor's Advanced Strength Series 1 (Yes, A.S.S. 1) is really giving me a great workout.
THE VIRGIN DIET DAY 2
So, I decided to try the Virgin Diet, because I have been restricting calories and losing weight, but it has been slow, and my energy levels suck (I could sleep all day), I have skin trouble that I would love to say good bye to (have had problem areas since age 12), I have sluggish digestion, and mood disorder, a tendency toward insomnia....and more! On day 1, I had popcorn and a bit of evaporated cane juice in my coconut milk. The popcorn was just a complete gap. Duh, can't make popcorn without corn...FFS. Anyhoo, I weighed myself this morning, and I am down 2.2 lbs from yesterday's bloat, and I am already feeling way more alert than is normal for me. Yippee! Now I just have to be careful to not let any of the 7 foods sneak in for the next 20 days. But for now, I am focused on getting through the next 7 days!
