the purest form of magic AU (my hp infection AU)

i want to take a small break from Hogwarts Legacy and draw tom again lol

so, i’ve discovered some pony virus AUs and even Undertale analog horror series and got inspired to make a harry potter one! i believe someone has already done it, but i still want to make my own😋

this is the purest form of magic virus or a horcrux disease. it starts to affect one the moment they create their first horcrux.

after the first one is created, the disease starts to urge its victim to create another one and so on. the more you create—the more your body and mind get corrupted. the infected’s wand melts into their body to make them immune to disarmament and help the magic flow better. the wand is now a part of the body with its own growing muscle tissue, veins, and nerves. obviously, the disease makes its victim immortal by messing with their organs and filling them with magic to keep the system functioning.

the infected is obsessed with immortality and the concept of "pure magic" that can be achieved by making more horcruxes and filling one’s body with so much magic that the damage becomes irreparable and gives the infected the "ascension" they crave.

the patient zero probably was Herpo the Foul, but the most corrupted one was Tom Riddle, as the virus supported his already present obsession with immortality.

STILL KINDA RAW AND PLAIN but i tried. i probably made some mistakes canon wise but idc, i'm having fun🙃currently drawing how the diary horcrux would look like in this AU!

Platonic! Yandere! Infection AU. Dazai Osamu

Name: Dazai Osamu

Status: Infected. Mutated Seeker (Mutated Seekers are Stage 3 and higher infected, who can control the urge to find someone to protect and who has only one or two visible symptom despite high stages).

Lacks: glowing irises, greish whites, sharpened teeth, claw-like nails, pulsing brown veins around eyes and neck.

Has: pulsing brown veins on arms he keeps hidden under bandages.

Contagious or not: Not contagious

History: Dazai was a detective (and years before a mafioso) before an outbreak. He is a part of survivors group made of members of Armed Detective Agency. During their travels, when Living Corpses attacked, protected his colleague Kunikida, but was bitten and infected. Dazai always had unnaturally high immunity. Because of that, virus mutated, letting him keep sanity. It's still unclear, if he has urges to have someone to look after. He can be a bit clingy, but he always loved annoy people by getting in their personal space. Ofter goes on single man patroles far away from camp.

Current whereabouts: Camp of Armed Detective Agency survivors. They are currently wander through South territories. For now, not that bothered with finding permanent sanctuary. Because they have a medic, they are more focused on helping fellow nomad survivors.

How you met: You were almost caught by raiders who wanted to rob you for supplies. Thankfully, you run into Dazai, who was on patrol. He saved you and offered to take you to ADA's camp. The camp was in a few days, so you start traveling together. You had no idea, that he is infected, until later that day you saw him changing bandages and notice the glowing veins. Dazai managed to calm you down and convince you to continue your journey with him.

First impression: You have heard about ADA group. Your own group travelled through South already, so it was a given. You never met anyone from that group, only leader of your group met them. You heard bits and pieces about ADQ members. Dazai was called "slacker", "too found of others personal space", but no one mentioned "infected" or "Mutated Seeker". Still, you found Dazai not being that bad. He saved you, he was a great company during travel and, besides, he immediately took upon himself to prepare cams and food, so you can have a bit of rest, or so you can play. Give you something akin to childhood outbreak robbed you from.

How he decided to “adopt”: Dazai doesn't know himself, if he has or hasn't infamous urges of Carestarved Plague. He just feels the need to keep you and protect you. Was it because of infection? Or was it because of a promise he made ages ago to a friend? A promise to protect kids. So, Dazai just accept it and decided to keep you. He will let ADA near you, but he won't let you return to your old group.

Five main traits:

Despite letting them near, Dazai keeps distance from other ADA members. He feels really protective towards you, and wants you to be his and only his child/sibling.

Loves randomly squeeze your cheeks.

Always drags you with him on patrols. Qny infected/Living Corpse/raider/bandit, who dares to look at you won't live long to tell a tale.

Always tries to find you interesting things during patrols. Will be ready to ask Liben for toys, books, snacks for you.

Will often cover you with his trenchcoat when you sleep, even if you have a blanket and it will feel you overheat. Just use his trenchcoat as a blanket, he won't stop.
