This one is an older one, which I originally send to my friend Pen, because we were talking about bat-pyro. But, I fixed some mistakes on it, and thought it would be nice to get it out to the rest. I just hope you like it!
Abolish opened the door to his tiny appartement, its wallpaper hanging some places, and a weird smell from the old painting in the kitchen. It definitely had charm, but it was also home. The living room was the only room with carpet floor, and each room had its own different flooring. The atmosphere was stale and dry, but it was also quiet.
Awfully quiet when you had a vampire as partner.
"Pyro?" Abolish called, getting no answer. Usually, he would hang out in the living room, waiting for his human to return, like some lost puppy. But there was nothing today.
He kicked off his boots, hang his coat, and ventured inside. His footsteps were instantly quieted down by the soft carpet, as he kept moving towards their bedroom.
Open door, and no vampire basking in the afternoon sun. It was funny really, as soon as Pyro had found out, that the afternoon sun didn't sizzle him alive, but instead allowed warmth, had he always a good chance at finding him there. But no luck this time.
"Pyroooo?!" Abolish didn’t want to seem panicked but raised his voice slightly and dragged put the 'o'. Okay, maybe he was beginning to be worried now, but that was only because he cared. Right?
In such a small appartement, he couldn’t be that many places. Abolish just had to keep looking.
Just as he passed the bathroom, he heard a little rustling coming from within. Any other human would have overheard it, that’s how silent it really was, but Abolish had a thing for catching the smallest if sounds. He had no other choice than to, as his partner would often turn into a bat, and just go quiet, so he was always on the look-out.
The bathroom was just big enough to fit a toilet, a sink, a showerhead with a shower curtain and the washer and dryer stacked on top of another. It was certainly cramped, but it worked. For the most part. Going fully into the tiny, overpacked room, Abolish found the sounds came from behind the stack of appliances. Sucking in a breath, he reached behind a pulled out what he thought must be a sock that had fallen, when he had done laundry. What he pulled out was a squeak and a deeply confused Pyro.
The jerk had turned into a bat, hid behind the warm dryer, and possibly fallen asleep. What a goofy guy.
