Omg you're the Background Noise author? Fucking loved that fic. I think about it so often. I usually hate 2nd person literature, but 2nd person was absolutely perfect for that fic, and you pulled it off so well that I want to write a 2nd person Knifecrow fic now. Once I realized the Heart/Jessamine was the narrator (probably should've figured that out before the 4th to last line, but in my defense, I first read it at like 4 am), I had to reread the whole thing over again with that knowledge, and I've reread it like 5 times since ngl. And that's coming from someone who usually turns away from fics with watersports + the dog dream thing (though I skip the dog paragraph LMAO).
"He has brought you low" and then the paragraph break before "He will bring you down farther" gets me every time <3 11/10 excellent fic, your writing style is just marvelous, and it's absolutely perfect for them
