Lean People Habits: observations of the thin people in my family
Let’s face it - people who are “naturally thin” aren’t any different body or metabolism-wise than people who are overweight or obese. They’re not magical, their bodies are not special, their metabolisms are not super-powered.
What IS different is their habits.
“Naturally” Thin people don’t consistently overeat. “Naturally” thin people don’t eat when they’re not hungry.
They’re not plate-finishers, feeling the need to eat everything in front of them. They usually have food left on their plates
They eat slower and more deliberately
They eat junk food too, but not as much.
They rarely go for seconds
They’re not special, and they don’t have magical metabolisms. They’re not better than the overweight people. They just have different habits and different relationships with food. They make food choices that give them a lower caloric intake at the end of the day.
I acknowledge that the only reason why I’m fatter than everyone else is because my eating habits are different. I’m a plate finisher, I eat when I’m not hungry, and at the end of the day or week I have eaten proportionally more calories.
I’m working on changing my habits!
