#weird conversation

It's weird that to say this, but mechspoloitation isn't a thing in Battletech. Not just the sexual overtures or trans allegory, but Battletech doesn't involve a direct connection to the 'mech and being confined there forever. It's professional soldiers operating a walking tank for the few hours of the mission, then getting out and going about their business. If you're into the other stuff that's fine, I just wanted to tell everyone who's looking through the source material that it wasn't written that way.

I have had to explain this to several people at game shops recently, and I have had some very concerned parents look at me when they overhear.

a guy at the pet store started chatting at me today and his lead-in was "I really like your outfit." Me, wearing my enby mask, head shaved on the sides, my comfy green travel cargo capris which were never fashion, leg hair out, a wrinkly sleeveless mom shirt from Kroger, and hideous brown hiking shoes: "Me?"

"Yeah you."

"Oh, thanks :) "

"It's nice to see someone mix things up a little." (I guess he just meant I don't look normal and... fair. It's kinda sad that the bar is this low but ok.) "Are you from around here?"

"Yeah I've been here for a few years now."

"You're from [this town]??"

"Yep."

Yes even looking like a broke andro travel vlogger I still dare to live in this small Texas town, kind sir. I kinda hope for his sake the guy was just politely interested in gender non-conformity and didn't actually think my outfit was cool. Maybe he's also enby and just never felt free enough to ditch the grubby jeans and t-shirt look.

anyway, he was giving me some high anxiety vibes but still was sweet, and it's a rare day when a guy just casually compliments your outfit instead of your body.

Zombie Dad In The Garden

Talking to my boyfriend last night, "When my dad dies, we should bury him in our backyard" He said no. He said it was weird. So I suggested we plant a garden over him because he'd probably like that (he has the greenest thumb). We looked at each other with wide eyes. "NO!" We both strongly disagree now that it's​ wrong. His reason: A zombie apocalypse I thought he was going to say that if a zombie apocalypse happened, my dad would sprout from the backyard. He'd either kill us, or we'd have to kill him. But he said, it defeats the purpose of having a garden. If the zombie apocalypse happens, you'll probably need a garden. But you know, zombie dad ripped it open. Also, zombie in the garden. My reasoning for never burying my dad in the garden was because at some point, I would think we'd be eating my dad's remains in the soil... I wasn't factoring in the coffin though so my new reasoning is because I don't want to eat food grown over my dad. He's probably reading this right now... (Hi dad! Hope you are doing well!)
