So I realized I haven't yet posted about how my FIRST half marathon race went on the 10th of September. I'll also make a video about it but here's a little description though! This is the race I lived for the whole summer.
And this is the most vulnerable picture I've ever posted of myself. Because I thought I didn't look pretty on this picture. But it doesn't matter, what matters is the experience that I want to share. So my FIRST half marathon went a lot better than I thought it would. This time I actually did believe in myself and ran my heart out. I fell in love with this distance. And will continue to run it in the future. The first 14 km's were like on point with the pace and it actually felt really easy maintaining that. Running besides men who were taller than me, then passing them and hearing how their breath intensified while mine stayed the same, was a total different kind of realization of what I'm actually capable of already at being 17 years old. At 17-18 km, it got really hard but strolling down the road and hearing people scream your name and that I'm the 8th WOMAN was out of this world. Bringing a smile to my face when on the last few km's even Sandra Raju yelled: "Isabel, go show them!" And then totally out of nowhere my clubmate Jürgen pacing me on the finish line was also freaking amazing. Thank you. Thank you everyone for cheering for me and following my journey.
