Weird things about What If...? Zombies!?

Now I will not call these plot holes, because they aren't illogical, it almost just feels a bit contrived, and I'm talking about where all of the zombies are located.

The outbreak started in San Francisco, California. We pick up two weeks later in the American Northeast in New York and New Jersey. So the virus spread fast, but that isn't what I find weird.

Most of the zombified Avengers are in New York City, or least a good portion of them. Now, there is some evidence to suggest that zombies retain SOMETHING of their prior selves with Wanda, but Wanda is the only one to do so, Steve has no hesitation to attack Sharon or Bucky, Tony attacks Bruce, etc. So why are all the zombies in NYC? Steve, Tony, and Clint all were infected across the entire country, why are they all in NYC? Did they lead the wave across the states? Why would they all form up there when the only zombie who seems to retain any sentiment is Wanda?

Vision and Wanda's situation is weird as well. Vision ended up with Scott's Zombie and T'Challa, both of who went down in San Francisco, but here they are in New Jersey. Why would Vision cross the ENTIRE country to get two different people to feed Wanda? Where even did Wanda get infected anyway? Did he haul her and the other two through the sky across the country? Also, why grab T'Challa specifically? Why dive into that area to grab T'Challa from the clutches of death when presumably the east coast is okay?

Thanos being in Wakanda is also very odd, why is he there? The mind stone is on the other side of the world at this point. Did he arrive to Earth, get infected, then get overwhelmed with hunger and charge the last Bastian of humanity? Why did Ebony Maw and Cull Obsidian go to NYC? was the stone still there?

Idk, there's a lot of weird occurrences that would be really cool to see explored

This is the first episode of What If? that I think I properly engaged with, and I started loving it because:

And then it took a turn. I don't want to spoiler it for anyone, but oh dear me.

I then watched a tiktok clip from the upcoming Doug film and have just sobbed thinking about our old dogs. My husband found me trying to compose myself by just staring at the wall.

Needless to say I'm going to go have a read of some The Thief x Y/N fanfic that I drunkenly spammed myself with at the weekend to cheer myself up. Pedro is always the answer.
