#throwbacktuesday to this time 2017, probably the last time I could #whiskyhunt and find #rarewhisky like these. I paid $1000 for the #yamazaki Mizunara, $349 for #themacallan ESC, and $2000 for the #michters 25 year old #bourbonwhiskey. It was all downhill from there, by 2018 there were a million other #whisky peeps out there hunting and buying and store prices jumped significantly and allocation. All that aside, this was a crazy moment in my #whiskycollection history. #throwbackthursday and a reminder when I could actually #whiskyhunt without taking out a #secondmortgage 😢. I was able to grab all three of these amazing #whiskies for great prices way way way back, oh no wait, this was just 3 years ago. Even #rolex when nuts I paid like $7800 for my #rolexbatman 🤯. I am always on the #whiskyhunt but I got to say it’s boring and expensive out there these days if you just some guy off the street. Most of the good stuff gone and only the very specific #whisky left on shelf. Let’s be honest with the good stuff that we know does not even make it too shelf, the everyday drinker #whiskey for the 95% who have no idea and just want something to drink. #throwbackthursday to December 2018 and I a with my wife in Orlando for her company holiday party. She has a meeting so I go for a little #whiskyhunt. I walk into this random #liquorstore and the owner sees me looking, and says what you looking for? I respond, #michters10, #pappyvanwinkle, #btac, ummm #macallaneditionno1 ? He says he has all of them, I quickly move my wallet to my front pocket, I can feel the price gauging about to happen. The #bourbon are all in body party money, but these #macallaneditionno1 are $142 each. I smile a big #shiteatinggrin, and say hey I will think about the #whiskey but I will take #themacallan.
