The second the pellets surround him, he knows he's doomed. Asgore is much too injured to survive even the smallest of attacks. The child in front of him looks shocked as the pellets swiftly close in, cutting through him like paper.
Gaster is silent as usual as he gestures for Ky to take her usual place in the bloodstone circle, which she does, albeit reluctantly. He takes longer than usual to prepare, his expression... She hates admitting that he can sincerely feel such an emotion, given everything he's done, but his expression is a mix of grim worry and something akin to the fear she feels from Kat after a bad nightmare.
"What are you doing?" she finally asks, albeit reluctantly and suspiciously.
"I am making the necessary final preparations," he answers.
"For...?"
He doesn't deign to answer. Smug asshole.
Ky waits silently, watching him as her tail flicks. She hates this anticipation; it's almost worse than anything he's done.
Almost.
Finally, he steps toward her. "I have enhanced you quite a bit, Kylee, and it is time to put that enhancement to the test."
"So... Are you gonna fight me?" she asks incredulously.
"No. You are going to see what very few, if I am not the sole person, have seen. It is called the Void."
"You mean where you got trapped?"
"Indeed." He straightens, stepping back and immobilizing her before she can escape the circle. He starts chanting.
"Wait! Wait, please, please tell me more, don't just shove me in there," she says, meaning for it to be a demand. It comes out as a plea, one he ignores. Before she can say another word, the world in front of her is replaced by a darkness blacker than black, deep and terrifying.
She's only kept there for a matter of seconds, nearly a minute, before she's brought back, pale as a sheet.
Gaster doesn't ask questions. He simply hands her a glass of water. "Drink," he instructs.
She obeys out of instinct, very much in shock.
"It seems my experiments were successful," he says to the currently catatonic cat. "Few could keep their mind after even fifteen seconds."
"Fuck you," she whispers faintly, reflex.
He ushers her out of the magic circle. "Today and today alone, I will allow Katherine to visit you. I expect both of you to behave." The threat is implicit, held over from before he sent her twin off again.
Ky doesn't respond, taking the mostly full glass with her to her room.
When Kat arrives, she isn't in a state to ask questions. Even still, she can tell her twin is in distress, and so she does what she can to comfort her. Having someone else there, someone friendly, someone she cares about deeply, to talk to helps Ky quite a bit. She isn't always coherent, nor does she always finish her sentences, but it's nice to have her twin back, if only for the day.
“I know, I know. But I just - I don’t like this. We don’t know what will happen. You said they’d be making a real person - that’s - I - stars above, that sounds so messed up.”
I AM AWARE.
WE DO NOT HAVE
MANY OPTIONS
UNFORTUNATELY.
“Yeah.” They rub their face. “I dunno. I’ll... Come up with something.”

ARE YOU
THERE?
ARE WE
CONNECTED?

Kris feels... Something. They’re not sure what yet. Maybe it’s just the noise starting to get to them. They aren’t the biggest fan of recess and never have been. It’s a good thing school is almost over. They can go home and not have to worry about being overwhelmed.
Kat glances at them, offering a paw. They take it, both silent.

EXCELLENT.
TRULY
EXCELLENT.
NOW.
WE MAY
BEGIN.
FIRST.
YOU MUST CREATE
A VESSEL.

The instant Kris closes their eyes that night, they’re no longer in their room. Instead, they’re in a strange grey and white space. They see text in front of them, as well as a humanoid form.
Oh. It’s now, then.
Great.

THANK YOU

Kris cuts in firmly. “Will now be discarded.”
They feel the strange presence leave. His part is done. He’s taken the vessel the player created with him. They don’t know what exactly he’s planning, but they at least agreed the vessel wouldn’t be destroyed. Hopefully they can meet it - them - later.
Ky grits her teeth, determined to stay silent as Gaster chants and channels whatever spell he’s casting. Whatever it is, it hurts like hell, but she won’t show him. She refuses. She will not give him the satisfaction of knowing how much she hurts.
Prompt: forced to beg/hallucinations/shoot the hostage
The side effects of whatever Gaster did aren’t always bad. Ky finds logic much easier, she can do subjects based in fact faster than she thinks she ever could, and she’s got more stamina than Kat even despite not having a body longer.
The bad ones though are... Pretty bad. She’s prone to seizures - there have been a couple times Kat has had to heal a sizable gash on her head - there are moments where she’s completely unable to move or breathe despite being able to process everything happening around her perfectly, and at times, despite being very much awake, she has sleep paralysis. She also has vivid nightmares of the void that leave her screaming when she wakes up. She doesn't like talking about that.
She’s taking some food to the table, Kat ahead of her, when she finds herself immobile mid-step. She’s immediately glad that it was at least while both feet were on the ground, but she’s still tilted forward at a slightly dangerous angle. Initially, she’s just worried about her food going everywhere.
Then she sees him.
Her heart pounds as he moves toward her, strolling at a leisurely pace. “In a predicament, my dear?”
Let me go, she wants to scream, wanting to struggle, finding herself unable to do either. Let me go!
“Honestly, did you think that you could get rid of me forever? I know more than anyone how to cheat death, Kylee.”
He takes her chin. “None of you will ever truly be rid of me. Perhaps I should remind the two of you of that?”
“Ky?” Kat peers around the corner, concerned. “You okay?”
It takes her just a moment to see that Ky is frozen, the food on her plate dangerously close to the edge. Kat quickly takes the plate from her twin, setting it on the table before returning to keep an eye on her.
After what feels like ages (that’s only a minute and a bit) Ky gasps, pitching forward and landing on all fours, panting. Kat quickly kneels by her, resting a paw on her back.
Toriel is still laughing as Asgore carries her into the house, only setting her down once he's about to run into the kitchen counter. "Asgore," she giggles in mock complaint.
"Yes, Toriel?" he rumbles, grinning.
She doesn't actually reply, settling for kissing him. "I love you," she murmurs after pulling away.
"I love you too. I still cannot believe you agreed to this a second time," he chuckles, genuinely in awe.
"You are a changed man. I do not see how I could not," she smiles. "When you were carrying me, I was reminded me of the first time, after the ceremony. Do you remember?"
He laughs. "I remember nearly running into the wall, if that is what you are saying."
She laughs too. "We were so happy. You swept me off my feet and practically ran all the way to the house."
"I could not wait to share it as husband and wife," he agrees, giving her another quick kiss.
