Hate the character so many people make Will out to be- Guys you’re getting rid of the most interesting parts of his character to fit into your very slim world view and I hate it I hate it so much

Will Byers is mean and gritty and selfish and THATS OKAY. That’s what makes him interesting that’s what makes him a good character. That’s what makes him being tragic and sad interesting and fun. He has a compelling character arc because he has flaws. If he was really just this pure innocent victim y’all make him out to be he wouldn’t be interesting- y’all are taking away from his character to have him fit into this weird innocent party fantasy you have with him being a self righteous hero.

Will isn’t a hero- he isn’t super he doesn’t have powers he isn’t completely kind or selfless and that’s OKAY. He’s okay. He’s a teenage boy trying to figure out how to survive and grow past a horrible thing that happened to him and he makes mistakes like any teenage boy would. Seeing him grow and try to learn from those mistakes, from that trauma mindset that he’s stuck himself in, is my favorite part of his character. I want to see him grow in s5 I want to see him have an emotional arc where he becomes a person he wants to be- where he isn’t defined by what happened to him and can be selfless.

Will Byers can be bitchy and not be a horrible person. Because he is bitchy- it’s literally my favorite part of his character LMAO. I thought when everyone said their favorite part of him was his sass y’all were being serious- Will gets his feelings hurt easily- he’s sensitive (like Joyce said) and that causes him to lash out and act like a dickhead- because he’s a teenage boy whose gay in the 80s and got kidnapped into a different dimension when he was 12 and had to survive a week there alone- he has growing up to do and I want that to be his arc in season 5. I want him to grow I want him to learn to love himself. And stop being a dick to the people around him and actually stand on business for once in his sad gay life

Idk how that isn’t a compelling arc to you guys. I don’t know how that isn’t just as compelling as this weird hero fantasy you have for him.

seriously though if there really IS some kind of grocery store hostage situation and they go down the classic tv route of having Character(s) Taken Hostage, please check up on me the day after it airs because there's a solid chance I will have died smothering my screams of glee into my pillows

(IDEAL SITUATION: buck and/or eddie with chris doing normal grocery shopping and then UH OH. they can't do stupid stunts because they have to protect chris but also they might have to do a stupid stunt in order to protect chris.

(ideal ideal scenario: eddie gets shot and this time buck can't go to him because he has to choose chris (eddie passes out going oh boy I'm really in love with him this is bad timing) (he wakes up and goes oh wow I'm alive and in love :) meanwhile buck has been having a Controlled Nervous Breakdown of following The Will™️ without knowing if eddie was going to wake up. I need that large man psychologically tormented and quivering .)))
