Cedric, King of Oscardia
I still haven't really decided who is Cedric, King of Oscardia, I mean, if he has a direct or indirect relationship with one of the Kings of Roses, or not. Tell me what you think…
Option 1: Amaya's Father/Stepfather
Years ago, when Magnifico was just a boy, invading soldiers came to attack his lands, killing those useless and enslaving those who showed potential. Magnifico showed himself strong until the last moment, and that was what caught the attention of Cedric, who welcomed him into the palace to serve him directly.
The boy grew up alongside the young princess Amaya, who, unlike her father, was an angel. She had lost her mother at a young age, but it was said that she was the spitting image of a great ruler. As they matured, they shared different instances, good and bad, until they fell in love. Magnifico asked Amaya for her hand in marriage, but for obvious reasons, she did not accept. Cedric was a bloodthirsty man, and as soon as he found out about their relationship, he would kill Magnifico in the most ruthless way possible. Also, he could end up locking Amaya in the palace tower, and never letting her leave it.
Magnifico promised to find a way to be together, and cautiously, he went after an ancient sorcerer who was said to be the most powerful in that land (Merlin LOL). After great insistence, the magician agreed to teach him magic, in exchange for a rose. Magnifico only thought about Amaya, so he continued and became a great sorcerer. He returned to Oscardia after a few months, in order to claim the hand of his beloved Amaya. He didn't expect that by then, Cedric would have already found out everything.
Magnifico fought for his love, and emerged victorious, saving not only Amaya from Cedric's tyranny, but many innocent slaves who would now follow him wherever he went.
Option 2: Just a tyrant
Both Magnifico and Amaya lived humbly in their town, when the invading soldiers arrived and devastated everything. They took the children, including them, and placed them in the service of their leaders, Cedric and a cruel woman, Lisha. Respectively, they became their most loyal servants, but also their greatest threat. Cedric was convinced that there was an ancient magic in Magnifico's heart, too powerful for him to develop. Lisha looked at Amaya with envy, as a rose that had to be cut.
The two leaders planned to murder the children, luckily they found out, and they looked for means to escape with all those who had been captured and enslaved.
Which idea do you like more?

I created him with the intention of him fitting the first option, anyway😅
