maybe the real amygdala is after the end of it all, saran wakes up with a shout and his father comes sprinting into his room ready to fight off a burglar, his mother following, armed with the table lamp, and ends up soothing him, telling him it was a nightmare. there are no ghosts or cults, there are no fake gods desecrating and eating his father alive and wearing his skin, its dead body ending up writhing inside saran to become one with him. there is no college friend killing him in a desperate violent act, there is no mom dying from a broken heart in complete isolation. only his loving parents breathing, sitting at his bed, holding him, and a beautiful boyfriend waiting for him the next morning to hold his hand while they go to school together
