My people, I saved a bug yesterday. I am normally scared of the bugs that fly into my room and buzz around. Yesterday, one came in and instead of running away, I left it buzz around my room and guided it back out the window with some incense. It followed the smoke. I am the supreme witch of my house.

A Witch’s guide to bay leaves

I’ve recently done a spell involving bay leaves and I wanted to know more about this herb. Everything I found out I put here for you.

Bay leaves are also known as laurel leaves, they are often associated with the god Apollo. They are also associated with glory and honor. Bay leaves are ruled by Leo, the sun and the element fire.

Looking at the magical properties of bay leaves, they can be used in spells such as love, prophetic dreams, healing, banishing, success and cleansing. 

Like rosemary bay leaves are a very powerful herbs by itself, but when mixed with other ingredients can make something amazing. 

For example by mixing sandalwood and bay leaves together you can break a curse.

Other magical uses for bay leaves:

-Writing a wish in a bay leave and burning it will help your wish come true. 

- If you pick a leaf from a laurel tree with a loved one and then split the leaf in half, each keeping one half, you will always be together

-burn or scatter in exorcism rituals

- Place beneath the pillow for prophetic dreams and inhale for visions.

None magical uses:

-It helps cure fevers (boil 2 leaves in water let sit for 10 minutes put cloth in water and set on chest)

-bay leaves have  anti-inflammatory properties which can ease pains such as sprains, strains and arthritis

-If you rub bay leave oil on your temple it supposed to help relive headaches and migraines.
