Gamers........... Are secondary schools actually just a lie........................ :(
tear(s)
trigger warning. death, knives, burning, sensory overload, traumatic experiences, fighting, revenge, the classic dark stuff. partially inspired by save-the-spiral. this is a vent piece. no capitalization because i don't care rn. some of them might be unstructured because it's not edited.
a storm wizardâs tears interlace themselves. frequently, you will find an angry spark has found their way into the storm wizard's grasp. electricity will fill their skin. it is impossible to touch them in their anger, for fear of electrocution. there is no other way to put it, but they are a storm. there is no eye - they cannot be stopped. anger, righteous or ambiguous, is the only way they will ever feel complete. storm has never been a school for waiting, action first. their damage is upfront - so is their movement. they will find, tear from limb to limb, unaccustomed to this pain. they have always killed the other first, after all.
an ice wizard's tears are cold, the same way lake water is at first touch. they are nearly ice, either way, leaving trails of shimmering regret from shining eyes. anywhere they fall, you will find something cold to the touch, difficult to distinguish from snow. they are so used to taking damage - so when something so painful happens that they take notice, something has gone terribly wrong. ice wizards will make the most calculated moves, and yet, be difficult to predict. their words will be so distant you will wonder if they were there at all, until they find you again, and again, and again, mercilessly.
a fire wizard's tears are few and far between. they appear in passion, in anger, when their voice is so loud you cannot hear your own thoughts over it, in desperate times when everyone realizes the tears are made in fury, in disappointment. there is no end to their anger, even when they have seemingly calmed down, for the flames will rage within. why couldn't i have done more? emotions are unreliable, magic has always taught, but there is no way to stop their spread in the forest.
a life wizard's tears are both for the things lost and the things never gained. reminiscing over memories, and rage will fill them. they are free with their tears, never purposely holding them back, but willing to show them, seen as a sign of caring, of feeling. life has never been afraid of emotion, for without it, their healing, fixing, would not be the same. they are proud, and strong, and unafraid to show their tears, for they know that they are useful. they will be seen as weak at first, but they control your ability to even exist in a battle. they are not weak. just wait and see.
a death wizard's tears are both droplets of water, stroking their eyelashes, falling every time they blink, and also the screams of the undead, wandering the streets. perhaps some will fall to ash, though none will know why. anguish comes when those who understand, embrace and feel death every day lose someone to it. when they become filled with something that forces them to act, gives them motive. they are so disconnected from life that pain will bring them back to it. they willingly will retreat into the shadows, just like darkness, to find. to watch, to follow. death wizards know what come sin their wake.
a myth wizard will isolate themselves before they begin to allow tears to fall. anything dead that they touch will spring to life, filled with a soft glow of blue and yellow before they disappear again, unable to discover exactly why, for the briefest moment, they were filled with a wish to do something, to move something. they summon thing after thing after thing, fighting until they cannot any longer. they have 'broken' before anyone ever realizes, because they hide alongside their minions with a smile created to show others. you will never see them hurt someone - no, they have creatures for that.
a balance wizard will cry a few tears. they will cry more later, but their first order of business is always what will happen next. they will try to draw on the spiral to calm them down, but when it does not work, when the spaces between the school are not comforting, but instead gaping holes that nothing can fill, not even their magic, they will slowly begin to lose their sense of self. they will be nearly unrecognizable by the time they are done crying, for they will still see everything, but it may be hard for them to take. they seldom cry, for fear this will happen. but they are aware - they account for it. some purposely lose themselves in the roadway to avengement, to dark magic. they must be found.
wizarding is beautiful. many believe that magic will solve their problems, and mostly, it does. our wizard will defeat things for them, will find things for them, will do their duty as a wizard, the saviour of the spiral, for them. but they are so incredibly young. i wonder, has anyone briefly told the wizard to stop, to stop pushing themselves so hard to be a child? or would that be impossible, for the wizard has found themselves on a path to their own destruction?
so i have no memory whatsoever of writing this but it was in my notes-
storm: the feeling that youâre not alone, a sense of belonging
ice: nostalgia, childhood
fire: warmth, the sense of knowing
balance: the texture of sand between your fingers
death: dusty books, old
life: leaves softly riding a wind, a labyrinth/maze
myth: walls upon walls of books, greece, rome

wizard101 school mottos + casting types
thought this was really interesting, and could possibly help some writers when theyâre coming up with things to write! i think some of these are a little inaccurate but thatâs alright. iâll be making a version with spell types (i.e charms, wards, etc) soon!
fire school:
âif the mind is like a candle, the heart is like a sun.â
they use incantations in order to cast their spells!
ice school:
âwith persistence, victory is assured.â
the ice school motto is very NICE considering their tanking abilities â alright they also use chanting in order to cast their spells!
storm school:
âthat which can be imagined, can be achieved.â
they use verses to cast their spells!
myth school:
âto control the future, one must look to the past.â
they use Naming (which is capitalized) to summon the creatures and minions they have!
life school:
âas we have been created, so we must create.â
they harness the very song of creation itself in order to cast their spells, which is WAY more badass than other schools give them credit for.
death school:
âtimor mortis conturbat me (the fear of death confounds me).â
they use âwhispersâ which iâm assuming is something quite like communicating with undead forces/the energy of life around them!
balance school:
âeye of newt and toe of frog, wool of bat and tongue of dog.â
balance uses transmutation to âblend the forces of the other schools for their spellsâ which explains hydra, chimera etc.
astral/shadow school quick rundowns:
sun is generally considered a combination of LIFE, MYTH & FIRE.
star is generally considered a combination of LIFE, STORM & DEATH.
moon is generally considered a combination of DEATH, MYTH & ICE.
shadow drains at all different forms of magic, and is the uh, âresidueâ found between spells.
spell types edition coming soon!
tag yourselves: w101 school edition
(Iâm almost 100% sure someone has done this before, but this is just my interpretation of it. If you donât know what a âtag yourselfâ is, itâs like âaestheticsâ for each of the schools or feelings/things they would do/have.)
FIRE:Â being perfectly warm under your covers when itâs cold outside. the noise a match makes when it lights. sparklers. fireworks. light streaming through the windows in the morning. lighting a car on fire in anger. huge candles everywhere. being overexcited about flames. the sun. golden hour. waiting for someone to crack. striving for excellence. always being warm. touching the cool glass. barbecues. being passionate. always energetic, like youâre drawing energy from the sun itself. forcing yourself to calm down/give up because it goes against your nature.Â
ICE:Â flipping your pillow over to get the cool side. being able to take an intense amount of insults without snapping. having cold skin. never getting cold in the winter. staying calm and collected before snapping and hitting someone on the face. defending your friends. having the ability to diffuse any damage towards you. fresh morning air and the bright white snow. waking up too early when itâs still dark outside. keeping beautiful flowers and different shades of pale pastel colours. ice cream in winter. being able to manage a busy schedule.
STORM: bragging about test scores. asking everyone else, âwhat did you get?â. hair that gleams perfectly in the afternoon light. being able to hear the buzz of fluorescent lights when someone turns it on. somehow fixing every single technical problem. typing quickly. narrowed eyes and shallow breathing. knowing how to hide in a lot of different ways. flicking lights on and off. groaning loudly when the power goes off, and not wanting to have to deal with it. never having to deal with the insurance companies. always remembering to charge your phone. knowing your way around every website. liking the rain. being fascinated by lightning.Â
MYTH:Â greek mythology. roman mythology. egyptian mythology. every kind of lore that exists sitting on your bookshelf. keeping more than one clock in your room. baking cakes at 3 am. two necklaces, one with a lock and one with a key. keeping your own secrets. asking precise questions. stopped clocks. golden watches you check all the time. always knowing the answer, as long as youâve paid attention. rationalizing. having favors you can always call on. being able to hold your own, but working better with another person. imagination.
LIFE: healing quickly. liking sciences. looking out towards the sky and getting distracted when youâre working. cracking your neck when you wake up. blinking either too much or not enough. peeling a bandaid back. knowing the difference between soft tissues and soft tissues. being the mom friend. trusting people easily. breaking off pieces of soft cakes with your fingers. hiding underneath too many blankets. laughter. dragging people out at 2am to look at the stars. knowing how beautiful people are inside. crying secretly and quietly and wiping the tears away. always smiling.
DEATH:Â a weird fascination with graveyards. moths over butterflies. understanding when someone passes. feeling grief but also knowing theyâre in a better place. having an appreciation for how short your life is. black and white. photography during an inconvenient time. closing the curtains when you take a nap. dark themes and photos, but still upbeat. keeping to yourself and a small group of friends. finding it difficult to trust people. fantasy and horror novels. black timberlands. defying stereotypes. smiling when people smile. antisocial social club.
BALANCE:Â slants and straight lines. being the hype person for other people. looking upwards thoughtfully. being able to read something once and remember it. waiting till someone proves themselves trustworthy to tell them anything. trying to find public wifi before remembering you have data. hourglasses. subtle smiles. symmetrical drawings. dark chocolate. appreciating the law, but also struggling to care about it. biting your lip for no reason. a slight tan. lots of colours toned down slightly. listening to soundtracks instead of lyrical songs. real, achievable expectations for others, but high goals for yourself. being afraid of your own power. fearing failure.
