Growing up I noticed it was not unheard of for people to EXPLICITLY tell me I wasn’t worth a shit or leave me out of certain things or treat me a certain way etc. It wasn’t unheard of, but it was much more common for them to do it TACITLY—-to put me in a box, to put a label on me, to automatically reject me without really getting to know me—at all. Through the boxing I gained much more control over my emotions and I realized that to be accepted by the people I wanted to be accepted by in the WAY I wanted to be accepted—the people who for one reason or another (tacitly) looked down on me, the solution was very simple—I had to PROVE to them that I am worth a shit, that I am not the paradigm they are familiar with—that I’m something new and better. You don’t shine through the window of someone’s preconceived criteria by wiping it down with windex—you have to shatter it. #brucelee #bruceleequotes #humpdayvibes #womensfigure #gogodancers #boxingmotivation #martialartist #martialartslife https://www.instagram.com/p/Cei8mPHuONH/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
