Heyooooo! Yeah this is sort of our unofficial/official tumblr I guess? The co-op is doing well enough to pay rent and bills but not pay ourselves very often yet. But hey that's part of building something right? Right? I'm asking because I don't know. HA! We're partnering with some great groups and folks to make their merch and host their online stores. We desperately need another water-based screen printer who knows their stuff but we can't actually pay wages right now so we're sort of out of luck there. i really don't say this lightly but i love my job

the board is democratically elected, i work remotely and get to chose my own working hours & if i don't feel like working some day i can just work on the weekend instead, i get paid enough to not have to worry about money at all, to be able to have anything i need and want and to be able to support friends & family who are struggling; profit is distributed between employees (in practice this means a 10k bonus twice per year), there are very few meetings and those that exist are short and don't require camera; there's no scrum/agile/waterfall nonsense or annoying middle management, everyone just choses what to bugs to work on and does it independently. our code is open source and accessible for anyone to read, modify and use however they see fit. there are real life meetups in beautiful european cities twice per year that the company pays for (with free time to explore the local cuisine and culture). they're very queer friendly; my gf works for the same company and showing up as a couple on meetups has only ever gotten us positive reactions (we got asked about our DIY engagement rings! ☺️)

and tbh, this is how it could be for everyone if we abolished capitalism and democratized the economy.

Hey, do you by any chance have that one long-ish post about worker power and co-ops, I think, that ends in a link to a website that maps co-ops all around the United States? I’m trying to find that website, or one like it, because I just found a big list of co-ops I didn’t know about in my area! Last I saw, that national co-op map didn’t have most of them.
