writeblr introduction

So, I’m finally writing an introduction, huh? I’m Sage (she/her or they/them; doesn’t matter which pronouns, I use both) a 17 years-old (less than half a year to my 18th birthday, though) writer! I’m Polish, currently learning to become a landscape architect, so I know a thing or two about working with plants

I have a lot of WIPs, but they’re mostly fanfictions. I actually like writing them; it’s a bit easier and I think that it’s a good example for learning and becoming better at writing (especially if — like me — someone isn’t native in English).

When it comes to original works, I do have a few:

untitled; In a world where everything is ruled by the Royals of the Thrones, there are a lot of legends. Most of them are just stories, older than the kingdoms, older than anyone could think. But there are two newer, one about a princess that left everything behind, disappearing into nothing and second, about a Throne long forgotten.

untitled 2.0; honestly for this i only have like 200 words, but it’s roughly based on the legend of the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna so yeah

and my biggest one:

constellations; The Stars have Children. Some of them are better, some of them are worse. Most of them, however, grew up to become important people that changed the world. So when a Child of Proxima Centauri goes on a murderous spree, other Children have to stop them.

Honestly, I’m kind of bad at summaries, I promise, they’re more interesting than that. I also have a side blog for constellations, where I reblog stuff that I may need later in it (@constellations-brain-dump). My main Tumblr is @starduststyx​, so I may follow you from it!

What I’m looking for?

target audience: 15+ genre: dramatic fantasy, with a touch of cosmic horror warning(s): graphic depictions of violence, gore, body horror, very mildly referenced sexual themes notice: this is my short story (possible novella) interpretation of the play the king in yellow, referenced in robert w. chambers’ book of the same name.

Something is afoot in the city of Carcosa.

Queen Cassilda of the planet-spanning empire, head of the royal house of Carcosa, is dying. The time has come for her to choose an heir. Camilla, her youngest daughter, watches everything unfold from the shadows - though doted on by her mother, she has spent life dealing with cruelty at the hands of all of her older brothers save for one. 

For Camilla, happiness would come in the form of safety and security. Perhaps with her status as Carcosa’s darling she’d be locked in a loveless marriage, but it would be a secure one. And she would be happy, too, if her brother Thale - Thale, the only one of her brothers who has shown more than a mere shred of kindness towards her - inherited the throne.

But again, something is afoot in fair Carcosa. The Priests of the Yellow Hand have been acting strange as of late, especially in regards to her brother Naotalba. A frightening masked stranger flits about in the palace. And just who is the King in Yellow, and what does he want?

With only her brother Thale at her side, it’s up to Camilla to survive the trials ahead. Whose destiny will it be to wear the  queen’s jeweled crown, to sit upon her jeweled throne?

Camilla doesn’t know for certain.

But the events she must go through are far too much for a normal human mind to comprehend...

Why have concept art when you can have picrews? Here’s Nez Mihime, robot singer from the future. I messed around quite a bit while making these, and though I’d say the accuracy is greater on the top row than the bottom row, the basics are: long brown high ponytail, pink eyes, small bow in the hair, white dress with black collar, looks like an older teen. I honestly like the top middle one best, even though there were no pink eye options...

There is a god, there was a world, and there is a dream. 

Torren is a half-elf laborer at the local factory in Fonsbois, Terra. A chance encounter with a pickpocket leads him to releasing an old enemy from very long ago. He sets out with his unlikely new friend not to set things right, but because he realizes that this new enemy is a way to pull his family out of the unfortunate conditions they’ve been trapped in for so many years. Unfortunately, it isn’t as easy of a journey as he thought it would be...

Celine is princess of Terra, raised in the lap of luxury. Her life is perfect: Raised by a loving mother, surrounded by two dear friends, starting at last to transition, engaged to the boy she’s loved. It’s only after the return of the demons from stories she’s heard about that she realizes the prosperous land of Terra is not all that it seems. She wants to help, but she does not know how. Still, she will try.

Nyx is a traveller in a theater troupe across the country with her wife of several years. All of a sudden she starts receiving letters from a name she wishes she doesn’t recognize. She has secrets to hide from the rest of her troupe, and it is only when the circumstances grow truly dire that she realizes that maybe her fellow actors have secrets to keep from her, too.

As conflict begins to brew, these three are connected. Their threads are tangled together, and when they realize just how dangerous their world truly is they struggle to protect all that they hold dear. Sometimes there are songs that should remain forgotten.
