When I was young I gathered that all serious works of fiction were written in the past tense (past tense third person to be precise) so that is what i did when I started writing. However my mind was blown by the power and immediacy of Margaret Atwood writing in the present tense so I started to experiment with it myself, and now i strongly favour it. I get the impression that past is still the most commonly used, but I’m prepared to be surprised!

I have a question.

I know AI is strictly forbidden on fanfic writing and I agree. The idea of writing is that a person does it.

The thing is. I used it in college to make sure my essays had all the things they ask for. To see if I was missing something I needed to have to get all the points and to correct some weird writing.

I NEVER make AI write anything for me, just make suggestions and generally review my text and tell me how to improve.

I love writing (I don't have the time to do it anymore, sadly) but I just write in spanish. I can write here but I can't write a whole fanfic in english.

So my question is:

Is it okay to translate my original writing from spanish to english with AI?

My idea is translate a text and then read it and compare to the original spanish text and see if I like it. If it makes sense.

I've read a lot of fanfic and books in english in the past 6-7 years but I'm still not good at writing (talking about creative writing) and I'd like to see how far my work can get if I break the language barrier.

I haven't done it yet. Not even to see if it could work.

I want the opinion of the writers here on tumblr cause I don't wanna disrespect the writing community.

My OC says this before getting in a fight. This is probably the most poetic he's ever gotten tbh xDDD the person he's fighting insulted him beforehand,

"You think you can take me on? You wouldn't know you were a man even if you looked inbetween your legs."

So..... yeah. Idk. I'm so embarrassed for even posting this LOL. I hate it when people look at my writing. But! I will be brave. Not a modern setting btw.

I've thought of making animatics of some fics (only of one or two scenes), but always a bit too nervous to ask if I can make some animatics. If only because I don't wanna ask, and the author enthusiastically says yes and kinda begins just like... waiting for it, and then I just ended up never doing it for one reason or another.

So while I'm not sure if I'd still do any "fic based animatics/animations" depending on the results here, I did want a sort of general feel on that. And figured I'd do the same for other things like art, or inspired stories. Or even just original stories. Just anything. Tried to cover as much as I could without making a million poll options.
