Unsaid Things writing ideas
⭒ Two characters sit in the same room, both fully aware that if either of them speaks honestly, the relationship will never be the same again.
⭒ One character practices a confession over and over in their head, then says something completely meaningless out loud instead.
⭒ A character overhears a conversation that confirms their worst fear, and chooses to pretend they never heard it.
⭒ Someone writes a letter they never intend to send, then hides it somewhere the other character almost finds.
⭒ A character asks a harmless question, already knowing the answer, just to see if the other person will lie.
⭒ One character is desperately waiting for an apology that will never come, while the other assumes enough time has passed to forget it.
⭒ A character realizes the other one has been protecting them from the truth, and can’t decide whether to feel grateful or betrayed.
⭒ Two characters share a private joke in public, using humor to avoid acknowledging the fracture underneath.
⭒ Someone almost says “I need you,” but replaces it with something safer, smaller, and far more dishonest.
⭒ A character chooses to leave the room instead of finishing the sentence they started.
⭒ One character knows exactly when things started going wrong, but refuses to admit it because that would mean admitting they stayed too long.
Writing a fanfic sometimes feels like having a plan...only for that plan to magically transform into a slice of cake. Now you have to bake the rest of the cake because you can't just serve a single slice whilst random cake slices of unidentified origin rain down from the sky tempting you like some kind of cake demon.
Writing is a way to give a permanent shape to a fleeting thought.
I love hurt/comfort because the possibilities are buzzy and endless for ships,
A has a horrific nightmare and B swoops in to comfort them and hush their cries, wipe away their tears.
A gets injured and, while breathing through the pain, they feel B cradle them close in their lap.
A experiences severe bullying and, one day, when B finally sees it, B shoves the bad guys away, shielding A.
A has a chronic health condition / chronic pain and, while bedridden, B reassures them, brings them snacks, etc.
A has asthma / anxiety and needs their medication so B runs to grab it from their bag, helping A take it because their hands are too shaky and clammy to open the bottle / take the medication.
LIKE COME ON YOU DON'T LIKE HURT/COMFORT AND SHIPPING???
Me reading my first draft:
Writing love stories like how I used to play with Barbies: Insane lore, the craziest breakups, smashing the characters faces together to make out. It’s the best honestly.
Simon wakes up in the Hail Mary, confused. He thought he died in the Lung. He thought he would never see the light again.
But this new place is warm and bright and safe. There's stars.
So he begins to think, “Maybe I did die. Maybe I saved humanity. Maybe, just maybe, that one act was enough to send me to a loving environment after death.”
Because what else could Simon the Butcher have possibly done to deserve this love?
