i'll be posting the ideas that pop into my head! currently i only write fluff and headcanons, so if you're requesting something, please don't ask for smut!! i don't feel confident enough to post it yet lol..
synopsis: you're the photographer for the england national team at the world cup, while dating a complete idiot, and jude bellingham decides to show you what it's like to be treated the right way.
warnings: fluff, coworkers to lovers lol, unstable relationship, lowercase intentional and just this ig?
you had recently been in a relationship, and at first he was kind and polite, but that changed after a short time.
he became distant, stopped showing you affection, and paid even less attention to you. it irritated you, a lot.
he always apologized, but you knew they weren't sincere. your intuition never failed you.
he said it was because of work, but you didn't believe him at all. you would just roll your eyes and say, "it's fine."
at the time, you were working as a photographer for the england national team, and your routine was the only thing that made you forget what an asshole your almost ex-boyfriend was.
your coworkers were always there to comfort you whenever you felt a little down because of the things he did. they would practically drag you out to fun hangouts just to help you forget the problems he caused you. they truly were your best friends.
but there was someone else who had caught your attention.
jude bellingham.
england's number 10 midfielder.
he was incredibly charming, caring, funny, and so polite and affectionate. everything about him reflected exactly who he was, and maybe... that was what made you fall for him.
every time you posted your photos, he would leave a comment complimenting how amazing they turned out, just like all the other players did. but somehow, he was different.
in short, he was everything that idiot wasn't, and it made you question your choices.
today was just another day at work, but unfortunately, it wasn't going as well as it usually did. why? because you had gotten into a fight with your now ex-boyfriend.
the night before, you came home exhausted, and he immediately started yelling at you, completely losing his mind.
he pointed his finger in your face and said he wasn't going to keep dating someone who gave more attention to their job than to their own boyfriend.
"how hypocritical, don't you think?" you thought to yourself.
it all ended with you yelling even louder and kicking him out of your house, finally saying everything you'd kept bottled up for days. it was exhausting, but more than necessary.
unfortunately, your exhaustion didn't go unnoticed. your coworkers saw it, and even your boss became worried.
at the end of your shift, your friends invited you somewhere relaxing to help clear your mind. you wanted to go, but you just weren't feeling well enough.
all of your friends had already left. england's coaching staff, substitutes, and starters were still at the stadium, along with thousands of fans.
you were happy about the win, but everything that had happened earlier still left you irritated.
"hey."
a soft, familiar voice pulled you back to reality.
you turned toward the voice and saw jude looking at you as he dried his face with a small towel.
"hi."
you waved with a fake smile that shamelessly gave away just how exhausted you were.
"are you okay?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.
"yeah... just tired, you know," you replied casually, rubbing the back of your neck. "too much work."
"i can imagine," he said quietly.
"congratulations on the win. you were amazing... all of you," you corrected yourself, though the compliment had been directed mostly at jude.
"thanks. it was surreal," he said enthusiastically, remembering the match.
"so... i heard you and your boyfriend got into a fight," he said. "i mean... your ex-boyfriend now," he quickly corrected himself.
"oh... so you heard," you replied, your voice lacking enthusiasm.
"do you think it was necessary?" he asked, trying to help.
"well, i do," you answered. "he was an asshole anyway," you finished with a shrug.
"honestly... yeah," he agreed, making you raise an eyebrow.
"from what i've heard about him, he's a complete jerk. he didn't deserve you," he said, crossing his arms.
"thank you. i really needed to hear that," you admitted, feeling a weight lift off your shoulders.
"you don't have to thank me," he said gently. "and to help you forget about him once and for all... how about we go out sometime next week?" he suggested with the most innocent expression on his face.
"are you serious?" you ask in disbelief.
"of course!" he says enthusiastically. "but only if you want to."
his kindness and patience leave you slightly embarrassed. it had been a long time since someone had treated you this well.
"okay, just give me a couple of days?" you ask.
"take as many as you need." he replies with a small smile.
—
when you told your friends that jude bellingham had asked you out, they were completely stunned.
they were just as excited as you were, already trying to figure out the perfect outfit for the day. you still didn't know where he was taking you, so you were a little unsure, but you decided to keep it simple.
on saturday night, you texted jude telling him you wanted to go out with him, and he replied almost instantly.
"i can't wait."
"i'll pick you up at 8:30 p.m. on friday, is that okay?"
you told him yes, and your heart was already racing with excitement.
—
the week went by so quickly that you were already finishing your makeup.
your phone vibrates, and you quickly grab it as soon as you're done touching up your lip gloss.
"i'm here 😉"
your heart skips a beat. you look at yourself in the mirror one last time. beautiful.
you grab your purse, your phone, your keys, and head straight for the door.
as soon as you open it, you see jude standing in front of his car, casually adjusting his clothes.
when he notices you, a wide smile spreads across his face and he walks over to you.
"wow... you look absolutely gorgeous." he compliments you while admiring you not-so-subtly.
"thank you so much. you look great too." you reply, slightly shy.
he reaches out for your hand, holding it gently so he doesn't hurt you, but firmly enough to guide you to the car.
he opens the passenger door and waits for you to get in. you sit down and fasten your seatbelt while he closes the door and walks around to the driver's seat.
the air conditioning is on, and there's a soft scent of cologne lingering inside the car.
"do you have any music preferences?" he asks while fastening his seatbelt and opening spotify.
"not really, but i have a good song in mind," you say, looking at him.
"the car's yours." he replies, keeping his eyes on the road.
you gather the courage to play a song you've been obsessed with lately.
"this one's really good," he says as the instrumental starts, sounding like he already knows it.
"right?" you say happily, excited that he already knew it and apparently liked it too.
the drive wasn't long. you talked about a little bit of everything—music, favorite artists, future dreams. the conversation flowed so naturally that it felt like talking to a best friend you'd known for years.
you finally arrive at your destination: a huge restaurant. he quickly unbuckles his seatbelt, gets out of the car, and walks around once again to open your door.
"thank you," you say as you step out, noticing how pleasant the avenue is.
he closes the car door, and the two of you walk into the restaurant. it has three floors, and the first one is packed. the smell of freshly made food fills the air, the lighting is dim, and the atmosphere feels incredibly cozy.
an employee approaches the two of you with a reservation notebook.
"do you have a reservation?" he asks.
"yes, under jude bellingham," he answers politely.
the employee recognizes the name as soon as he hears the surname and smiles warmly. he leads you both up to the third floor, where there's a quieter table away from the crowd.
you both sit down, and the view is perfect—absolutely unforgettable, you'd say.
the waiter comes over quickly, and just like in the car, the conversation flows effortlessly. you have so much in common, including your tastes.
every minute, you learn something new about jude, and he learns something new about you. some things make you both laugh, while others leave you both completely wide-eyed.
the night goes by quickly. before you know it, it's time to leave, and you're practically the last two people to walk out of the restaurant. jude pays for absolutely everything, not even letting you reach for your wallet.
the drive back to your house is peaceful. jude recommends a few songs he likes, and you do the same. they are all very different from one another, but each somehow reflects the other's personality.
when it's finally time to say goodbye, jude hands you a bouquet of roses along with a small handwritten letter that says:
"i'd love to be the person who makes you happy and makes you laugh at the dumbest jokes. i hope i can earn a place in your heart. i know it sounds cheesy, but you should know you already have a place in mine." — bellingham.
a few months pass, and you and jude start dating. when you finally announce your relationship, it comes as a shock to many, surprises others, and brings happiness to everyone—especially you.
jude always tells you that everything he's ever done was simply the bare minimum, and that he'd do it all over again, over and over, because you will always deserve something even better.
mdynotes: i really hope u guys enjoyed it! andd if you've ever been disrespected, never lower your head because you're fucking awesome!!! and will always be someone who respects you and loves you very much waiting for you 🩵🩵 luv ya!!

synopsis: where your friends decided to throw a party at night so you could talk to the girl you like.
word count: 15,025 (THAT WAS WAY MORE THAN I EXPECTED.)
warnings: highschool!au blue hair billie, fluff, teen romance, use of y/n, intentional use of lowercase letters, fem!reader, fictional characters mentioned, known to lovers, mention of alcohol, literally just one swear word, kissing.
mdynotes: this is my first time writing something this long—i hope you guys like it! i was torn between using silver haired billie but i ended up deciding to go with blue bils.
you had moved to a new city and consequently had to change schools as well, but incredibly, you managed to fit in well.
your group of friends wasn't small, but it wasn't huge either. Your teachers considered you a good student, and your relationship with your parents improved a lot.
the only problem was: you were in love. and who else but billie? you noticed her in your first year of high school, drawing in a small sketchbook. you thought her drawing was very creative and complimented her.
she thanked you, and when you heard her low voice, your heart warmed in a way it never had before.
since then, all your friends knew about your big crush. you were too shy to talk to her, and every time you tried to do something to get her attention, it ended in a very embarrassing way.
your friends, tired of so many disasters happening to you just to get her attention, decided to throw a party and invite everyone, including billie.
"so, everything's alright, right?" beatrice asks, looking at you.
"of course!" you confirm excitedly.
"finally you'll get to talk to her," ellie says, leaning back in the chair she was sitting in.
you roll your eyes.
"okay, friday EVERYONE at my house!" beatrice says again, probably for the twentieth time that day.
—
the party would start at 8 PM and probably end at 3 AM, or even later. it depended on beatrice.
you stared at your wardrobe for the fifth time; suddenly all your clothes looked unappealing.
you rummaged through some hangers to see if you could find something, and by a sign from the universe, you found it.
a black jacket that you loved to wear, but for some reason stopped. It was still beautiful, it had its dark details and the tone was still perfect. This would be the basis of everything.
after much indecision, you were ready. you would wear your jacket, wide-legged pants, and a dark blouse. "basic is key" was your motto at that moment.
bea's house wasn't far from yours; you could walk there.
you weren't too worried about leaving home early, especially since no one would arrive on time. you looked for some hairstyle ideas, and the chosen one was a slightly messy bun with silver makeup—it was perfect.
you didn't waste time looking for more inspiration and went straight to your desk to do your makeup and style your hair. It didn't take long to finish everything. you looked in the mirror one last time and saw how beautiful you looked.
maybe, but only maybe, you put in a little more effort because billie would be there. you were anxious to see what she would be wearing; she would look beautiful anyway. just thinking about it made your heart scream.
two notifications appeared on your phone's lock screen; it was ellie.
"hey, are you ready yet?"
"not trying to make you anxious, but your 'girlfriend is already here'"
you almost jumped out of your chair when you saw the message saying billie had arrived; apparently, she was punctual.
you fixed your hair for the twentieth time, grabbed your bag, applied a few more spritzes of your perfume, grabbed your phone, and ran to your front door.
—
as expected, you didn't take long to get to bea's house; in fact, you were already at her door, listening to the loud music in the background.
taking a deep breath, you rang the doorbell, and it wasn't long before Beatrice opened the door, running along with ellie.
"finally you're here!" bea said excitedly, pulling you by the wrist.
"grab a drink," ellie said, handing you a glass of soda, probably mixed with some alcoholic beverage.
"thanks," you said, taking the glass from her hand as bea guided you to the living room.
the room was full, several people from school, obviously. some you already knew, others you didn't even know who they were. but unfortunately, the person she wanted wasn't there.
"stay here, i'll get some games for us to play!" the girl releases your wrist and runs upstairs to her room.
"wow, she's really excited," you say loudly so ellie can hear.
"very much so, she's so happy the party is full," ellie replies, drinking the rest of her drink.
you laugh at her comment.
"did you see her?" you ask quietly, referring to billie.
"oh, yes," ellie replies. "she was on the other side a little while ago with two of her friends."
"should i go over there?" you ask, unsure if it's the right time.
"i think it's best to wait a bit." "well, you want to talk to her alone," ellie says.
it was true, it's not like you didn't like ava and jane, quite the opposite. You've talked to them several times and they're super funny and fun, but you want some alone time with billie, thinking about it now you even doubted you could manage it.
"i'm back!" bea appears like a shadow behind you with several board games and cards in her hands, making you jump a little.
"so many games…" ellie says without much enthusiasm.
"i was undecided which one we'd play first, so i decided to bring them all from my room," she says, spreading them all out on the table.
"hey, guys!" bea shouts, calling everyone in the room, who quickly look up curiously. "let's play!" she says excitedly, showing the full table.
everyone agrees, and some shout in unison, enjoying the idea. Everyone sits in a large circle; ava, jane, and billie join the circle to play too.
"hey, can we come in?" ava asks, curious about what's happening in the circle.
"sure!" bea says, making room for them to sit.
your face burns as you see billie sitting next to you; it was the closest you'd ever been to her.
the game was a simple uno. but to add more excitement, the game would be in trios, and each losing team would drink a shot.
—
time passed quickly. your trio was the second-to-last group to lose a game; you were hoping you wouldn't have to drink, but unfortunately, it didn't work out.
the games were over, and several people had already left since it was past 10 PM. some of bea's other friends were still there because they were going to sleep at her house, and most likely they were already passed out in her bed (including ellie).
"hey, where's the kitchen?" you murmured quietly so as not to wake anyone who was sleeping drunk on the sofa to Beatrice.
"it's next to the bathroom," bea replied, half asleep and half awake.
"thanks" you thanked her, getting up from the floor and heading towards the kitchen.
you liked the post-party atmosphere, seeing the house emptier, the music off, the TV on some random channel with the volume super low—it gave off such a comfortable vibe, not that you didn't like parties, but the calm was more your vibe.
arriving in the kitchen, you saw a very familiar figure, billie.
she was standing with her back to you, drinking water and looking at the sky through the open kitchen window.
your heart stopped for a split second; she was so calm, so relaxed and so pretty.
you swallowed hard and went to the water filter to get some cold water.
the loud "beep" of the filter button slightly startled billie, making her jump slightly.
"shit, i'm sorry," you apologized, watching her recover from the slight fright.
"oh, it's okay," she replied awkwardly, adjusting her hair.
the kitchen was silent for a few seconds until billie broke the ice.
"you're y/n aren't you?"
"It's me," you say, giggling at the end, just as shy as she is.
"we've bumped into each other a few times at school," she says in a more relaxed way, trying to overcome her shyness. "you even complimented one of my silly drawings." she adds.
"it was very cool!" you correct, still laughing a little nervously; the conversation was really flowing.
"thank you, really." she says, scratching the back of her neck.
you laugh back, swaying slightly as if you wanted to run away, but the truth was you were so happy about the interaction that you were internally jumping for joy.
"if you want, I can draw something for you," she breaks the silence again. "just not right now, i don't have anything with me." she says, laughing.
"really?" you ask incredulously.
"of course!" she says in a friendly and gentle tone.
"wow, that would be awesome!" you reply excitedly. "but, i don't have anything to give you in return…" you add, a little embarrassed.
"relax, you don't need to give me anything!" she says. "but… if you want, in return you could give me your number."
you almost choked on your water, she wanted your number? seriously?
"what?" you murmur almost to yourself.
"sorry, i think i was too intrusive," she apologizes, looking a little downcast. "i'm just kidding, you don't—"
"no, no!" you interrupt her. "i mean, no… it's okay!" you realize that maybe, but only maybe, you sounded a little too desperate.
"i'll give you my number, no problem at all," you say softly, feeling your cheeks burning slightly.
"wait, are you serious?" she asks, probably thinking it was a joke.
"seriously! look, to tell you the truth, i really wanted to be close to you. i never had the courage to approach you or anything like that," you say nervously, hiding one of your hands behind your legs so as not to show that you were squeezing it tightly.
"it always ended disastrously," you continue, looking away. "so, exchanging numbers now would be great." you didn't know where you found the courage to say all that.
"wow…" she murmurs softly, almost inaudibly. "that's good." she laughs softly.
"yeah... what a relief." another nervous laugh escapes your lips.
"i liked your hair," you compliment.
"i liked your jacket," she replies as if she had been counting the minutes to tell you.
"thanks." you say shyly, feeling your hands sweat slightly.
"do you want to… get out of here?" she asks somewhat hesitantly.
"now?" you question.
"yeah— i mean… go outside and see the stars," she explains nervously, as if she were doing something illegal. "i don't know if it's strange for you, i just really like it," she finishes.
"no, it's okay," you say. "i'd love to see the stars with you."
"are you serious?"
Speechless, you nod yes—she gives a shy smile that makes your heart stop for a few seconds.
"so... let's go."
she opens the back door that leads to your friend's large backyard. the icy wind hits you both like a slap, but it doesn't take long to get used to it.
you both sit on a step near some freshly weeded bushes in the yard.
the silence in the place was strangely comfortable; you didn't feel the need to talk about a thousand things at once—just enjoy the moment silently.
"hey, do you know about constellations?" you bring up a random topic.
"no… but I'd like to." she replies, shifting her gaze from the sky to your face.
"me too, in my old city i had a friend obsessed with constellations." you say, laughing as you remember a few months ago.
she laughs at the information; it was cute, she thought.
"i can identify two." you say, looking at her.
"really? which one?" she asks curiously.
"if I'm not mistaken, that one over there is the phoenix," you point to the stars forming a phoenix shape with nine stars.
she takes a moment to look away from you to secretly admire you. when she looks up at the sky, she sees the shape.
"wow…" she says, genuinely impressed. "it looks like…"
"some random bird, right?" you say ironically.
"yes…" she murmurs, shocked that you figured out what she was thinking.
"i said the same thing when i saw it for the first time," you let out a laugh, almost like a whisper.
"i'm so glad you thought the same!" she says, relieved. "and which second one can you identify?" she asks.
"that smaller one," you point again in another direction now.
it was andromeda, a constellation formed by nine stars too.
"it's much smaller than the Phoenix," Billie comments.
"yes, but it's pretty too. you say.
"not as pretty as you." she says, completely serious but with a flirty tone.
your face burns with the compliment; you forget how to speak for a few seconds.
"i…" you try to formulate a sentence, but nothing comes to mind.
"sorry, i think i embarrassed you," she says, laughing.
how could she affect your heart so much? and how did she have the nerve to laugh in your face after making you so silly?
"you think so?" you reply sarcastically, resulting in another, louder laugh from billie.
"i couldn't miss the opportunity," she comments.
"very hilarious…" you look away, trying to hide the pink blush on your face.
"come on! you liked it at least." she says confidently.
"yeah…" you murmur, looking at the floor. "i think i really liked it," you say shyly.
you were thinking about something but were too hesitant to speak up; you needed to. now was the moment.
"and I think i like you too."
your words escape as if rolling off your tongue, your heart aching after you finished speaking.
"oh, my god." she says, her eyes slightly widening.
"i'm sorry—that wasn't it! i mean—" you try to apologize, stumbling over your words.
"hey, it's okay," she says softly, cupping your cheeks with her cold hand.
even with her cold hands on your face, your heart warmed completely.
"i like you too," she confesses, looking at you with loving eyes.
"really?" you ask, your voice dragging.
"really. i always watched you from afar, i wanted to tell you. but i couldn't because you always ran away…" she confesses, laughing as she remembers the moments they shared.
"i'm sorry…" you quickly look away, embarrassed.
"you don't need to apologize." she murmurs softly. "hey… can i?" she asks, looking deep into your eyes.
you couldn't form a sentence, you just nodded quickly.
billie moves closer and seals her lips with yours.
the kiss was calm and slow, your lips moving in perfect sync against hers. she asked for entry with her tongue and you accepted without saying a word, placing your hands around her neck, wanting more contact.
you were both running out of breath and quickly separated. your eyes met and your heart raced, making you doubt if that moment was real or not.
"are you okay?" she asked.
"yes." you replied, still a little breathless.
she smiled slightly and kissed you again, more gently this time. she held your waist and squeezed lightly, making you sigh softly, feeling her smile slightly during the brief pause. you stroked her hair while she kissed you passionately.
you stopped again for lack of air and laughed in unison, not believing that it was really happening.
"i think we should go inside," she suggested.
"yeah otherwise we'll catch a cold." you said, getting up with her.
"i'd love to catch a cold with you." she jokes, making you laugh.
"you're an idiot," you say in disbelief.
"only with you" she replies with a sly smile.

some fluff with reader being all gentle and patient with billie post-tour since it's stressful?
REST WELL — b.e
synopsis: after the hmhas tour, you decide to take care of billie (your girlfriend) so she can get the rest she deserves.
warnings: fluff, nicknames: "my love" "sweetheart", "bills" gf!billie, caring reader & just thiss!!
mdynotes: i loved this request! it was super easy to write, i really enjoyed it a lot. if it wasn't exactly what you wanted, please send me a message!
the “hit me hard and soft” tour was one of the best things that ever happened in her life—and especially in billie’s.
she had poured her heart and soul into the album, and she was so happy to know that through it she’d managed to touch so many hearts.
the entire process—from setting up the stadium for the show to the actual performance was exhausting, but billie handled everything perfectly with a huge smile. and you knew that even behind all that exhaustion, that was always and always will be—what she loved to do.
while you were extremely proud of how everything was going, you were also worried about your girlfriend—her well-being, her health, everything.
so right after the tour ended, you made sure to take care of Billie every step of the way, cater to her every whim, and let her get the rest she so deserved after all that hard work.
today was the first week since the tour ended, so you decided to wake up early to make a special breakfast for her.
the smell of toast filled the kitchen, making it feel as if you were inside a coffe shop.
everything was almost ready—the toast was cooked to perfection, the bowl of berries, yogurt, and granola was already waiting for billie, and the coffee she loved so much.
“wow… that smells so good” Billie’s slightly sleepy voice echoes from across the kitchen.
“good morning, sweetheart.” you say with a smile and a soft tone of voice.
"good morning, love," she says, hugging you while planting a few kisses on your forehead and neck.
you laugh at the affectionate touch you love so much and reciprocate with a quick peck on the lips.
"come eat, everything's ready!" you say excited, leaving one last kiss on her nose.
"i can't wait" she says, heading toward the table set with all the food. "you made ALL this?" she asks, still half in disbelief.
"of course, you deserve it." you reply in an affectionate tone. "i hope you like it." you add, sitting down at the table with her.
"thank you so much, babe" she says, sounding as if she’d won a prize—even though it was just her girlfriend making breakfast.
you ate, taking your time and enjoying the peace you shared. every minute, billie talked about how delicious and incredible everything was, and how she felt her energies returning to her body. making your heart warm with every little compliment.
afterward, you went to wash the dishes, forbidding billie from even touching a towel to help you dry them.
"thank you again." she says softly, looking at you with those eyes that made you fall in love more and more.
"you don't need to thank me, bills, seriously!" you reiterate, stroking her hair. "you've worked so hard, and i know how stressful the tour was for you... it's the least i can do." you finish.
she lets out a soft, breathy laugh—not because she found something funny, but simply out of admiration for such kindness.
she moves her face closer to yours, holding it gently.
"how can someone as kind as you exist?" she says in a soft tone—so gentle and delicate that you could easily listen to that sweet voice forever.
she presses her lips against yours in a kiss that is soft yet full of passion and gratitude.
"i promise I'll rest, i know you're worried." she adds, planting a quick kiss on your cheek.
she lies down in your lap, and you pull a warm blanket over the two of you you strokes her hair again, only more softly and gently, while an episode of "the office" one of those you’ve probably both seen at least five times plays in the background. clearly, it wouldn't be long before you and billie drifted off to sleep.

In the deep forest, situated right outside a quaint log cabin, you sat amongst your best friends in the entire world: Ava, her sister Jane, and Billie. The four of you were reclining comfortbly in some foldable lawn chairs, a big, bright fire in the middle of everyone, bathing your faces in a pretty orange glow and illuminating the otherwise dark atmosphere, the only other light source being the moon high in the sky. By nightfall, the temperature had cooled down a bit, a slight breeze in the air. It was perfect weather, in your opinion; it wasn't so hot you felt like you were suffocating but there wasn't too much of a chill either. The four of you also had tall, cold glasses of refreshing lemonade, the sound of ice cubes clinking against the class mingling with the sound of laughter and the crackling fire.
This moment was exactly what you pictured when your friends first proposed the idea of an exciting getaway out of the city. You remember telling them that you wanted to make a bonfire on the first day of the trip, wanting to begin your summer break like it was some kind of coming-of-age movie; and now, here you were, feeling the stress from past assignments and projects leaving your body with every passing minute.
But, although you were thoroughly enjoying yourself, there was a certain feeling you just couldn't shake. It was a heavy feeling, one that you felt deep within your gut, simmering and simmering. You weren't sure how to describe in the moment, but whatever it was, it was persistent; it was a feeling you couldn't quite shake.
You didn't realize it, but you had fallen quiet at the bonfire, while everyone else was still chatting away. Jane and Eva were arguing about something—you were so zoned out that you weren't even aware of the topic of conversation. Billie, on the other hand, was moreso watching the playful argument unfold rather than participating, her shoulders shaking as she laughed gleefully at their antics. When you looked at Billie, that feeling—the one that felt like a coil, steadily growing tighter—had grown stronger, especially when you payed close attention to the way she threw her head back when she was laughing extra hard, or at her smile, which was somehow brighter than the moon in the sky and the fire in front of you altogether. Her pretty, full lips were glossy, and you had no doubt in your mind that it was her beloved Aquaphor that she carried with her everywhere.
Your chest felt tighter. How come every time you gazed at her lately, you felt some kind of a pull? You certaintly didn't always feel like this. Maybe you just missed her; after all, when last semester got rough, you weren't hanging out with her much, as you chose to focus on your studies and ending the semester with a bang. Yeah, that was why.
You only came to the realization that you were full-on staring at your best friend's lips until you heard her voice.
"Hey, you good? You're kinda quiet." Billie asked you softly, grinning at you. You shifted in your seat, immediately tearing your eyes away from her and deciding to focus intently on the fire in front of you. You cleared your throat and took a big gulp of your lemonade before responding.
"Uh, yeah…" You muttered after swallowing, hoping your voice didn't sound too hesitant to her. "Just a little tired, I guess." You said. It wasn't entirely a lie; you were beginning to feel a little sleepy. It was a long day, after all, one mostly spent on the road.
Billie raised an eyebrow, seemingly not too convinced with your answer, but thankfully for you, she didn't pry. Instead, she gently caressed your arm, the affectionate action coming to her completely subconsciously. "Yeah, me too." She replied with a low chuckle, deep blue eyes still boring into you, even while you were turned away.
While Billie was gazing at you, she just barely noticed something on your face; specifically, on the tiny corner of your lips. It was a smudge of chocolate, from the s'mores that you all shared earlier and made sticky messes with. She giggled to herself, and without even thinking, she reached over the armrest of her chair and wiped it away with her thumb.
The sudden gesture got you to look at her again, surprise coloring your features. You didn't make any moves to stop her, though, letting her continue to wipe the smudge away until it was clean.
"Sorry," Billie said with a meek smile. "It was just chocolate. From earlier."
You nodded, trying (and failing) to ignore the way your cheeks warmed at the simple action. Billie only made matters worse for you when you saw her stick her thumb in her mouth, licking away the chocolate that was just on your face. Before you could even stop yourself, you found your eyes trailing back to her lips, watching as her tongue licked away any excess chocolate, swirling around her thumb.
This time, there was no ignoring the way your heart rate spiked. Your own bottom lip was pulled between your teeth as gazed at her, and for a split second, you could have sworn her eyes glanced at your mouth as well. It was dark, and you were growing tired, so your eyes easily could've been playing tricks on you. But then, you saw her lean in, and that you were sure you didn't imagine.
She still had a light smirk resting on her face as she maintained eye contact with you, her eyes undoubtedly lowering toward your mouth a second time.
You froze. You couldn't move, couldn't speak. You were afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing.
Billie had opened her mouth to say something, but before any words could come out, Eva had playfully shouted:
"Last one back inside is a rotten egg!"
Billie quickly pulled away, her attention being caught by the two sisters dashing back toward the cabin, chuckling the entire way there.
When Billie looked back at you, you noticed a tinge of redness in her cheeks as she shyly tucked a strand of dark hair behind her ear.
"We should rest. Big day tomorrow." She said, a hint of excitement in her tired voice.
You downed the rest of your lemonade in one big gulp. When you were finished, you were the first to stand up, looking down at Billie who was still seated with a friendly smile, trying to conceal the panic you were feeling from just moments ago.
"Don't be a rotten egg," You spoke, starting the trek back to the cabin. Billie just laughed at that, putting out the fire before following suit.
You didn't have a very restful sleep. You couldn't stop thinking about what had happened in front of that fire. Or rather, what could have happened, had Eva not interrupted.
You stored the memory away for some other time, not wanting to dwell on it.
STARGAZING
For most people, 9 P.M. was a time for winding down; but with your three chaotic friends, there was no winding down in sight, even with the sun long having dipped below the horizon.
Jane and Eva both decided to work on cooking dinner, with you and Billie as spectators. It was supposed to be a simple pasta dish, but Jane insisted on making the sauce from scratch. But frankly, not much was getting done, as Jane, Eva, and Billie were far to preoccupied with the music blaring from the bluetooth speaker. You watched from your seat at the kitchen island as Billie used a large wooden spoon as her own personal microphone, with Jane and Eva acting as background singers, and you were pretending to be their very engaged audience member. You absolutely couldn't deny that the three of them sounded amazing together, harmonizing perfectly, their voices blending together with ease. In another universe, you could genuinely imagine them on a big stage together instead of small, humble kitchen.
Eventually, the laughter and the performances came to an end, and after restarting the recipe at least three times, dinner was finally being made. Jane and Eva returned to focusing on the pasta noodles and homemade sauce (with a salad on the side, of course), and Billie occupied herself with playing on her Switch, seated on the couch as episodes of The Office played softly in the background.
It was quiet; but not an awkward quiet. It was tranquil, the sound of sauce simmering away on the stove and romaine lettuce being tossed filling the kitchen. You glanced at Billie, who was very much in her whole little world, eyebrows furrowed as she focused intently on whatever game she was currently playing. With Billie lost in concentration, you took that time to let your gaze linger a little, admiring how much she looked like the epitome of softness in her cozy sweatpants and oversized band tee. Her hair was up in a high ponytail, but some stubborn strands of dark hair still fell in front of her face, and you had the urge to go over there and tuck them behind her ear while she played.
In an attempt to keep your mind from thinking up any other crazy things, you turned your attention back to Jane and Eva. Jane was currently putting some pre-made breadsticks in the oven.
"You guys need help with anything?" You asked, feeling the urge to make yourself useful, as you were the only one not occupied with anything at the moment.
"Nah, we got this!" Eva said, keeping her eyes on the pot of sauce, stirring it slowly. "Thanks, though."
You nodded. "Of course…"
As you trailed off, your gaze then wandered out the tall windows, taking in the darkness of the outside. Impulsively, you felt an itch to get some fresh air.
"I'm gonna go outside. I'll be back in when it's time to eat." You said, standing up from your seat at the island. Jane just gave you a thumbs up, and Eva muttered a quick "K!" as she picked up her phone, probably to put some music back on.
You gave Billie a quick glance. You noticed that she was already looking at you. You just gave her a lopsided smile before sliding on some slip-ons and heading out, ignoring the way your heart jumped at any small amount of attention she gave you.
When you made it outside, the first thing that hit was the cool breeze. You were wearing a hoodie and some pajama pants, though, so you weren't too terribly cold. The delicious smell of pasta and breadsticks was quickly replaced with the smell of nature, the aroma coming from the dirt and the surrounding vegetation no less pleasant.
Immediately, you also noticed that there were many stars out tonight, shining beautifully from their place in the sky. You grabbed a blanket that had accidentally been left out on a chair on the porch and laid it down on a patch of land a little bit further out from the house, deciding to lay flat on your back, so you could look up directly at the night sky.
You allowed yourself to get completely lost in the stars, admiring the brightness of each of them, their unique sizes. It was like staring at an endless abyss, but rather than being terrifying, it was actually quite comforting. If anything, it reminded you of just how beautiful the vastness of the universe was.
"Want company?"
Suddenly, you heard Billie's voice behind you, and even without looking at her you could hear the smirk in her voice. You slowly sat up, turning around to be met with Billie, standing there expectedly, her hair removed from its ponytail and framing her face in pretty waves.
"I always want company." You replied with a smile, scooting over to make space for Billie to lay next you.
She was quick to do just that, getting herself comfortable atop the blanket. The two of you laid back down together, so close your shoulders were touching. You could just faintly make out Billie's perfume amongst the smell of the grass and leaves around you.
"Were you napping out here?" Billie inquired, half-serious, half-joking. You chuckled, absentmindedly fiddling with the fabric of the blanket beneath you as you continued gazing up at the sky.
"No," You replied. "Just… stargazing."
"I see," Billie commented. She let out a sigh, a smile lingering on her face as her eyes tried to scan the hundreds of stars above her all at once. "It's beautiful out here." Her voice came out soft, barely above a whisper.
"Yeah." You quietly agreed.
For a few minutes, there was a comfortable silence that settled between the two of you. It was moments like these that you enjoyed with Billie the most; moments where the two of you were just occupying the same space. No words were even needed, nor was there ever an obligation to do anything with the other; just existing together, breathing the same air, was meaningful enough to you. This moment in particular—lying next to Billie, her perfume washing you in sense of comfort, the night sky enveloping you both in a formless embrace—was a moment you were sure to remember, even long after the trip was over.
"Y'know," Billie began, pulling you out of the recesses of your mind. "I can actually identify some constellations."
You whipped your head over to look at her, both eyebrows raising in surprise and your eyes widening with curiosity. "Really?"
Billie's contagious cackles filled the air almost immediately. "Nope. Kidding."
At that, you rolled your eyes, lightly swatting at her. "You're annoying." You stated, but there was no genuine harshness in your tone.
Billie turned her head to meet your gaze. "You love it." She spoke, a teasing smile lighting up her features.
You simply chuckled in response, knowing full well that what Billie had said was entirely true.
You both were just staring at each other now, the stars just barely illuminating your faces. At some point, you rolled over on your side, still facing Billie, and Billie did the same, leaving the two of you so close to one another that your noses could brush against each other's if either one of you just slightly scooted forward. You could even just faintly feel Billie's breath fan across your face, getting the smallest hint of the mint gum she was chewing a while ago.
In the quietness of this moment, a thought had reoccurred to you.
"Hey, so…" You tucked an arm underneath your head for support as you continued speaking. "Can I ask you something?"
"Anything." Billie replied, the answer coming out of her so swiftly and with so much sincerity in her tone it nearly made your heart skip a beat.
"It's about… last night. During the bonfire. It seemed like you were going to tell me something before Eva interrupted. What… what was it?"
Billie had suddenly shifted, her expression morphing from warm into something a bit more unreadable. Not cold, or distant by any means, just… unreadable.
"Oh, I was just, uh…" She trailed off, a contemplative glint in her eyes as she chose her next words carefully. "I was just about to ask you if you wanted to go back inside, since you had told me you were tired." Billie explained slowly, almost as if she wasn't even sure of the response she was giving you. She was sporting a somewhat awkward grin, different from her usual playful and confident ones. There was no doubt some kind of change in atmosphere now, but you couldn't pinpoint what had caused it.
Upon hearing Billie's reply, you couldn't help but feel a small but sharp pang of sadness pierce you. With the way she had glanced at your lips (you remember the moment vividly, as it never left your mind for the entire day), you were hoping that maybe she had been thinking what you were thinking in the moment. That she also felt that intense connection that you had felt.
"Oh… okay." You said, trying to hide the disappointment in your tone. You smiled back at her to mask any traces of dejection in your expression.
But Billie, being ever so observant, could sense that there was something else on the tip of your tongue.
"Has something been on your mind lately? It just… seems like something has been bothering you." Billie questioned, eyebrows pinched together in mild concern.
The truthful answer sat heavy on your tongue. You wanted to tell her that she had been the on your mind lately. That she was all you could think about. But your mouth couldn't form the words; you weren't going to lay all of that on her now, not so suddenly.
You must have been quiet for too long, because Billie had spoken up again. "You don't have to tell me anything right now. You can tell me tomorrow, or even at the end of this trip. Just know that you can tell me anything."
You simply nodded, not trusting your voice enough to verbalize anything. Billie smiled at you, giving your arm a supportive squeeze. Your heart swelled up at the concern she had for you. There was a part of you that felt bad for seemingly making Billie worry, but you just couldn't help the fact that your feelings were a mess.
Once again, silence fell between the both of you, and suddenly the stars were long forgotten as you stared into Billie's eyes. She still had that warm smile on her face as she admired you.
Without even being able to help it, your eyes stole yet another glance at her lips. It was quick, fleeting.
"I… I just…" You trailed off, feeling meek, not even exactly sure what you were gearing up to say. Billie just waited patiently, giving you time to form something, anything comprehensible to say in your mind.
But before you can utter a single word, you heard the familiar sound of Jane's voice.
"Dinner's ready and plates are made! Get in here!"
You released a breath you didn't even know you were holding as you watched Billie slowly sit up, groaning a bit as she did so. You joined her, sitting up alongside her, hearing your heart beat in your ears.
"I meant what I said," she spoke. "You can tell me anything. For real." She pointed at you matter-of-factly, one eyebrow quirked. You giggled.
"I'll tell you… once I figure out how to say it." You responded truthfully. Billie nodded.
"No rush," She said softly, with a grin. "Now, let's go eat. I'm starving."
You stood up alongside Billie, following her back inside the cabin happily.
In the far back of your mind, you replayed your own words to yourself.
I'll tell you once I figure out how to say it.
Were you ever going to figure it out?
LATE NIGHT SWIM
The sun was painted in a pretty combination of oranges, pinks, and reds as you, Jane, Eva, and Billie all ran to the lake carrying towels and sunscreen, chuckling gleefully as excitement rushed through all four of you. You had never swam in a lake before today—but like they always say, there was a first for everything.
The lake itself was a stunning blue, the sunlight reflected in the waves, making for such a beautiful sight that it nearly took your breath away. You stood still at the shore, taking it all in as Jane and Eva set out the chairs around you.
Suddenly, Billie had jogged past you, already heading into the water with a wide smile lighting up her face. You tore your eyes away from the idyllic sunset and placed them on Billie instead, who was clad in a matching black two-piece, hair down and flowing in the breeze. She had already gotten knee-deep, and she turned around to meet your gaze.
"Get in here!" She yelled, and immediately you found yourself grinning ear-to-ear, doing as she said and trudging your way through the water.
Soon enough, Jane and Eva joined as well, bringing pool floaties with them.
Time seemed to slow down as the four you chatted away about everything and nothing under the sun, laughing until your cheeks started to hurt. For a little while, you guys played around with a beach ball that Billie had brought, tossing it back and forth for ages, feeling like little kids again; it was a simple game, but it didn't take much for any of you to be thoroughly entertained. In this moment, the four of you felt like the only people in the world.
Normally, your mind would be focused on having fun with your friends—and while you were genuinely having a good time—your mind couldn't stop latching onto other things. Things it normally didn't care about.
Like the way the water droplets from the lake dripped down Billie's body, glistening from the sun's golden rays. Or the way Billie bit her lip every now and then in concentration, taking this silly game of water volleyball very seriously. Her hair, completely soaked, was pushed back and out of her face, only adding to her ethereal aura. You had been friends with Billie for a long time and her beauty was something you were always aware of; but something had clearly shifted recently. Now you felt all too aware of how strikingly gorgeous she was, in a way that was almost infuriating.
Eventually, after a few beach ball tosses and some poorly made sandcastles later, the four of you were packing up to leave. The sun was almost fully below the horizon now, the sky dark and the air around you slightly more brisk. Billie suggested that the four of you take a group photo, with Billie being the self-appointed selfie stick to the best of her ability. Ava and Jane had their arms wrapped around each other, and Billie had hers around your waist, her chin on your shoulder as she looked into the lens of the camera. Your pulse quickened at her touch; something you were glad Billie couldn't notice.
After the group photo, Jane and Ava hurriedly ahead, giggling about something between the rwo of them with their towels slung over their shoulders. You and Billie on the other hand, stayed behind. You noticed that Billie was still caught on the view of the night sky and the calm water, snapping more photos of the sight before her. Normally, you would've been captured by the view too, but Billie was far prettier.
She caught you staring when she suddenly turned around, sporting a gentle, easy-going smile. "It's gorgeous, right?" She asked you, seemingly oblivious to the fact that you were already looking at her.
You nodded, smiling back at her. "Yeah, it is. I'm sure those photos will come out great."
"Oh, for sure. I can't wait to print them all out. We should do a scrapbook with them or something." She said, walking closer to you. Her eyes tore away from her camera and peered into yours instead, her blue eyes light and full of mirth.
"Oh, we're so doing that," you replied softly, chuckling lightly to yourself. Aftet the words were spoken, there was a silence that filled the air; one that you suddenly made you very aware of how close Billie was standing next to you. You couldn't ignore the intimacy of the moment; it was just the two of you and the occasional sound of the water moving around the both of you. The two of you held eye contact for a good few minutes, and rather than it feeling awkward, the atmosphere felt very charged—charged with something that you couldn't quite decipher. As you were looking into Billie's eyes, you got the sense that she could feel it, too—the strange shift in the air. But her next words promptly made you set the weird atmpshere change aside in your mind.
"We should take a picture together. Just the two of us, here." Billie suggested with a grin. You immediately found yourself nodding, already ready to get into position to pose for a photo, extending your arm so that Billie could slot herself in next to you, her own arm going around your waist. She did the classic Billie pose where she smushed her cheek directly against yours, causing a few giggles to erupt out of you. Billie quickly snapped a couple photos, you and her both changing facial expressions for each one.
But when she lowered the camera, she didn't immediately move away from your side; she stayed put, continuing to look at you fondly.
In this moment, you decided to play with fire again. Your eyes dropped down to her lips, and then back to her eyes. After doing so, you didn't miss the way Billie swallowed, her light smile slowly fading away as she continued gazing at you. You could hear your heartbeat in your ears now.
Was this the moment? The moment where you would speak the truth once and for all?
You opened your mouth to speak—it was just the two of you, alone. And for some reason, you were feeling courageous. You weren't sure were the courage came from, but it was there, and you felt like you needed to take advantage of it; that was, until Ava and Jane called for the both of you.
"Thought you guys got eaten by a shark or something. Are y'all coming?" Ava joked, yelling from her place in the grass several feet ahead of the both of you.
"There are no sharks in the lake, Ava." Jane retaliated, to which Ava lightly shoved her, rolling her eyes.
At that moment, you and Billie finally pulled away. It suddenly felt much colder without her pressed into your side.
Billie looked at you for just a few extra seconds before looking ahead. "We're comin'!" She replied. She threw a glance over her shoulder, smiling lightly. "We should catch up."
You nodded, feeling the warmth in your cheeks. You felt like you could vomit. You were so close to either completely destroying the relationship you had with Billie or completely changing it. Now, you'd never know. At least, not until you could up muster up the courage again. You weren't sure if you ever would.
"Yeah." You simply replied, following behind Billie.
The two of you still were a bit far from Ava and Jane but still trailing close. At some point during the journey back home, Billie nudged your shoulder.
"What were you gonna tell me earlier?" She asked, and you felt your heart rate speed up yet again.
"Um…" You trailed off, silently mulling over your next words in your mind. "Just… just that… y'know what, it really wasn't important."
Billie eyed you suspisciously. "You sure?"
You chuckled nervously. "Yes, I'm sure," you continued to lie. "I was just gonna tell you some stupid joke. I forgot it now, so don't tell me to bring it up again."
Billie nodded slowly, still looking at you with an inquiring gaze. You hoped your lie sounded convincing enough; but you also knew that she knew you too well. However, much to your relief, Billie didn't seem to question you further. Either she truly did believe you, or she could tell you weren't ready to tell whatever you were actually going to confess. Regardless, you were grateful.
"Okay, then. Well, when you do remember the joke, tell me." She said with a teasing grin, nudging your shoulder again.
"Will do," you replied, wearing the same expression. After the exchange, the both of you caught up with Ava and Jane, joining them in their conversation about what the scariest sea creature was. Billie started going off about how whales utterly terrified her. Externally, you were looking at her as she passionately gave her speech, chuckling at her seriousness in an otherwise lighthearted conversaiton; internally, though, you were burying your feelings yet again, trying to ignore the way your heart ached.

JUDE BELLINGHAM
REAL MAN while dating a complete idiot, and jude bellingham decides to show you what it's like to be treated the right way.
mdynotes: i wrote this after brazil's defeat in the world cup, and initially I wasn't going to post it, but it ended up being quite nice to share! 🇧🇷
Lamine was training for a few extra hours today, but he promised to get there as soon as possible to watch the game with you.
And he managed to arrive 15 minutes before the game started.
This game was very important; if Brazil lost, they would have to go back home, and that made your heart tremble and ache inside.
Even though Spain was in the World Cup, he would still have cheered along with you. He's your boyfriend after all.
Time was passing very quickly, it was already the second half and your hopes were lost. It was 2-0 for Norway.
You with your obviously sad and disappointed expression, saw at the last minute the referee award a penalty to Brazil.
Your heart was practically leaping out of his chest, Neymar prepared for the goal and scored. But unfortunately, it was all for nothing; Brazil had been eliminated.
Your throat was ached from shouting so much; the game was over, and so was your joy.
Seeing your country eliminated in such a humiliating way was such a terrible feeling.
The atmosphere was tense, Lamine didn't know how to comfort you after all this, but he was already thinking of a thousand ways to cheer you up. He quickly turns off the TV, drawing your attention.
"mi amor" ("my love") He says, standing up quickly and going over to you to hold your hands. You remained silent the whole time, you didn't want to talk, you didn't feel like it.
"i can imagine how sad you must be right now, i'm so sorry." he says in his soft, comforting voice.
You swallow hard, feeling your throat burn.
"but let's do something to cheer you up, shall we?" he says, holding your hands firmly and forcefully lifting you up.
"i'm not really in the mood…" you say in a dejected tone, letting go of his hand.
"por favor, mi amor" ("please, my love.") He pleads softly while clasping his hands together and making a "please" gesture, which warms your heart.
You sigh "okay." trying to cheer yourself up.
"great!" he says with a broad smile.
The first thing he decided to do was order one of your favorite desserts.
While the order was being placed, he went to your room and chose two warm and comfortable pajamas (one of the tackiest ones you two had).
"are you really going to want to wear these pajamas?" you ask suspiciously, laughing at your boyfriend's face as he holds the hanger that holds the pajamas.
"¿no es obvio?" (isn't it obvious?) he says ironically, making you roll your eyes.
You both change clothes and you feel more cheerful while Lamine laughs in disbelief that he was actually wearing that.
"kenye would love these pajamas," you comment, chuckling softly.
"let's take a picture to show him later!" he says, grabbing his phone. He adjusts his phone to the best angle of the two of you (not that it was hard to find), and the photo turns out super cute with you both smiling in your matching pajamas.
"it turned out really good!" you say, looking at the photo.
"of course it did, with a girl as beautiful as you in it." he said, kissing your cheeks several times making you laugh softly.
"stop, it tickles, bebé!" You spoke while still laughing as he kissed your cheeks and stole a quick kiss.
"no pude contenerme" (i couldn't hold back). The doorbell rings, signifying that the desserts have arrived.
"i'll answer the door, can you choose a movie for us to watch?" he asks more as a suggestion than a request, quickly going to the door to receive the sweets.
You quickly sit down on the sofa and turn on the TV to choose a movie to watch. He quickly returns and sits down with the heavy bag.
"wow, that was quite a lot" you say.
"all to please you, babe" he says, giving you a quick peck. You laugh shyly and press play on the movie.
"people say this one is really good!" Lamine comments while tasting some of the cake.
"i hope so!" you say excitedly, choosing which dessert you're going to get.
However, you ended up falling asleep halfway through the end of the movie.
Lamine laughed, knowing this would happen sooner or later, and kissed your forehead and stroked your hair, making you hug him so both of you could cuddle.
