Kai and Wyldefire have the best character development in dr you can’t change my mind
I haven’t seen the first half of s1 and don’t really know what happens there but when Kai and WF are working together he’s usually getting really upset with her and she’s just making fun of him the whole time. They don’t know how to work together at all and are really bad at it (which leads to their dragon core getting stolen)
But then Kai sees he can’t just change the way she is and starts learning how to talk to her in a way that will make her listen. He’s no longer contradicting her but matching her energy.
And then that one scene in s1ep19 where they’re trying to sneak around but WF is singing loudly and Lloyd asks Kai to get her to be quiet, but instead of telling her to shut up he tells her “this is a stealth mission, so the theme would actually go-” and then he sings a quieter tune. He’s not forcing her to be someone else anymore, he’s teaching her how to be herself but still in a way that won’t get everyone caught.
And then he stops getting frustrated with her. Becuase he learned how to exist with her. It’s actually so freaking sweet the way they work together.
And then he dies and now she has to learn how to talk to everyone else without him.
