Here’s some more concept art inspired by the attraction ExtraTerrorrestrial: Alien Encounter. This one features general depictions of the main humanoid aliens from the attraction as well a homeworld for them. Their species was never given a name but as they are the creators of the X-S tech I gave them the name Xerarchians (from xerarch which means developing from a dry place). Thus X-S would stand for “Xerarchian Science”.
With humanoid aliens its hard to make truly believable biological speculation but here’s my best shot. Xerarchians are a roughly 2 million year old species that hail from a world similar in mass to Earth and also orbits a yellow dwarf star though at inner edge of the habitable zone. It is a hot and dry world with much less water than earth but very rich in mineral resources. Xerarchians resemble humans though they lack body hair, oviparous, and though endothermic are less effective than in mammals or birds. They have a symbiotic relationship with an algae that inhabits their skin (thus their green color) that provides nutrients and oxygen to their bodies while directly providing water, carbon dioxide, and habitation in return. Having and extra source of nutrients and oxygen allows the Xerarchians to have a brain volumes of 2100 cm3 on average. The most distinguishing features of the Xerarchians are their head structures which are likely more elaborate in their ancestors and use as mating displays as they are more defined in males. Their most alien feature, however, is a pair of antennae on their chests that are specialized for detecting humidity and scent of water.
Culturally, Xerarchians largely have a passion for trade and technological progress, which their highly influential company X-S Tech embodies. Most of their trade exists between their extrasolar colonies. However, they actively seek out other sapient species as potential customers. These proved exceedingly rare with humans being their most exciting discovery for them to date.
There are few notable characters of this species from the original ExtraTerrorestrial experience that I will probably depict at some point along with at least one original character of mine I would include in a potential movie.
