Y’all I started breaking out in hives in May and got diagnosed with Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria in July lmaooooo the past few months have been some of the most depressing times. My entire life was put on pause. Spent most of it rotting on my couch, canceling fun plans, and dealing with the ER, doctors and allergists. Avoided mirrors unless I had to document new videos and photos.

I finally started Xolair last week, so maybe the next 3 months will remind me what life is like 😂 but if anyone here has ever dealt with hives or has been on Xolair/knows anyone who has, pls pls pls tell me your input LOL

Has anyone done biologics for allergies? I'm going to be starting Xolair in January and was wondering if anyone could tell me about their experience with it. I've never done a biologic before, so I'm hoping someone can tell me what side effects are usual and if it really helps. Thanks!

I got my first Xolair injection today! I am now waiting my 2 hours for observation. I scheduled the next 4 injections as well, assuming this one goes fine. After this one I will have to only wait 30 minutes each time. So far my arm burns a little and I have a headache, but some of that is probably anxiety and also not being nourished/hydrated 😅 I also am dizzy and my heart rate went up, but nothing too bad. This Xolair may be a life changing medication for me so I am really hoping it works out.

Also the staff here is so nice, I really couldn't have asked for better 💕

I'm doing pretty fuckin bad from the Xolair. It feels like I'm almost back at square one in terms of mast cell activation syndrome symptoms. Everything I'm eating is triggering me to various degrees, I have to consume cannabis constantly to avoid nausea, my bones hurt like the kind of pain you get in your joints when you have the flu, I'm super anxious, my heart rate keeps randomly spiking.

I looked up the half life of it and it's 26 days. I'm preparing for at least a month of this honestly. Of course the doctor told me the side effects would stop after 24hrs. What a fucking joke. I knew after a reaction that bad it wasn't going to stop for a while. It's only been a couple days, but I feel horrible still. My doctor had the fucking nerve to call this a "minor reaction" too. This is the worst reaction I've had to any medication. She insinuated that she thought my BP and HR went up because I was anxious, and not because I was having a reaction to the medication. Which is nonsense.

I’m back on social media! 💖 It’s been about 6 months, and I can say that it was a wonderful feeling to forget about the internet and the world for a while to focus on myself. I have been attending a 3x/week DBT therapy program and individual therapy, physical therapy, and seeking treatment for my overwhelming allergic reactions. Around the time I decided to quit social media I started Xolair injections for my allergies, and since I passed the 3 month mark my allergies have been improving tremendously!
