It's part two of my hearts extravaganza! I've got flower agate, tiger's eye, yellow jade, kambaba jasper, and African bloodstone. Come check them out!

So I found this OC/SI Katekyo Hitman Reborn fanfic series (Russian Roulette: Reloaded) that I’m just head over heels with. Just really appreciated going in-depth about the Arcobaleno pre-Cursed and really writing them out into people. They’re so essential in the canon story, but reading this series really drives it in how tragic the whole affair is because the Curse really ruined lives. It’s so fucking great, seriously. After finishing and then rereading (at the time, the most recent chapter was chapter 59 in part two of The Dragoness’ Library, Russian Roulette: Second Chamber), I ended up making this instead of drawing fanart lol.

It includes a kind of exploration into Flame-compatible gemstones and what exactly those canon Flame rings are made of. I’ve been into semi-precious stones/crystals as well as the less well known gemstones for a while now, and recognized some of the kinds that ended up being used by or associated with certain characters. For example, Reborn finds his Sun Flames are compatible with moonstones and yellow jade, and has moonstones embedded in the handle of one of his guns. 

Another thing that was really fun about the story was the Sonya’s (Russian dragon-mom and the World’s Greatest Thief) relationship with Reborn, them basically co-parenting Shamal. Their dynamic is seriously the cutest thing ever with both being ridiculous and competent and not seeing how they’re casually breaking people’s minds left and right.

And coincidentally, I had yellow jade beads and a number of gold charms. Including this little gold axe charm I never knew what to do with. Unfortunately most of the stones Sonya regularly use are a bit expensive for me. Instead of something like spinel, I decided to represent her with cacoxenite amethyst, picking out the iron mineral shows up as the most reddish to represent our favorite Storm-Cloud.

Cloud – Sonya

Sun – Reborn 

Cat – Tattoos act like a resume in the Russian criminal underground. Children slated to become thieves are given cat tattoos, so Sonya’s first tattoo was a cat and she’s a bit of a, lol, cat burglar.

Cross – Reborn and Shamal are Catholic Christians. It’s a major thing with the co-parenting.

Big Dragon – Sonya is often referred to as some form of “dragon lady” and later gets a large dragon tattoo to indicate she has stolen from the state.

Axe – She keeps medieval weapon charms that she Propagates into full-size or just multiple. One of her go-to weapons that she menaces people with are golden axes that she chucks around.

Sun – Reborn, but I’m hoping to replace this one with a handgun charm.

Chinese Dragon – Reference to Sonya’s networking with the Chinese Triads, who also call her “dragon lady”.

Sun – Reborn, but I’m hoping to replace this one with a lizard or chameleon charm.

Here is a very, very oversimplified rendition of Fang of the Earth, the guandao Tang wields in the Golden Dragon Tang AU.

Fang of the Earth (Dàdì Zhī Yá) was granted to Tang's ancestors by Huánglóng. Like the Dragon Blade, it has the appearance of being made entirely of different types of Jade.

The blade is made of Yellow Jade to match the scales of its creator. Yellow Jade Represents cheerfulness and joy. It heightens assimilation and comprehension. Please pretend the swirls on the blade are a darker shade of yellow. They are supposed to represent clouds over the mountains as well as being an opposite parallel to the geometric designs on the Dragon Blade.

The shaft is made of Brown Jade. Brown Jade helps with grounding the mind and strengthens your connection with the Earth. It creates comfort and a sense of reliability.

The connector for the blade and shaft as well as the capstone at the end of the shaft are Black Jade. Black Jade is the color of immortality. It emanates strong, protective energies to ward off negative assault, physical or psychological, including self limitation.

The tassel hanging from the connector is made of royal purple thread to represent wealth and royalty.

Fang of the Earth, being made entirely of stone, is extremely heavy. It can only be wielded by those of the Huánglóng bloodline that prove themselves worth. To do so, the member must prove they understand that knowledge should be free to anyone who seeks it. After they do, they won't feel the weight of the guandao and will even be able to summon it to them if they have a free hand.

If anyone wants to take a crack at making a nicer rendition of Fang of the Earth feel free!

Yellow Jade was captured as they had sleepwalked out of the hibernation chamber during one of the rare sunny days only to find themselves in Japan. Found quickly by priests, they thought Jade was an idol made for then so they're whisked them away in a temple and closed all doors and windows, only to open them in full moons as this was when they found Jade. Unable to bath in sunlight, Jade fell into a deep hibernation, unable to wake up.

Phantom was accidentally corrupted by Pink soon after she acquired Earth as a colony. He was healed but still retained “scars” so it was sent to be shattered

Mare is a defective Jasper, that’s about it

Mad is a pearl who doesn’t listen to anyone, not even himself, during his escape his gem got slightly cracked

Remus is also not right for his role, he’s violent and crude and only does stuff on his own terms

Dee is blind and doesn’t like the hierarchy of gem society despite being considered an aristocrat
