Using the #infinitystrap to help any possibility of #natarajasana #standingbowpose which is very challenging. At first, I started with the #yogastrap on this #anjaneyasana, not expecting to be able to reach the bar on Round One. And I kept walking my hands closer to the bar and lifting my chest up, before I knew it, I touched the bar and found steadiness there - which really surprised me ;) • This goes to show that sometimes an #asana “will come” when you least expect it. And I’m not wishing that I would able to do it again. Every day is a new practice. • Just a note on techniques here: instead of pulling your hands towards the bar, work on pushing the bar away from you so it creates a lift in the chest and alleviate any pressure in the lower back. It’s not easy when you’re actually pulling the strap in the beginning. However once the hands are on the bar, everything will start to make sense. • Always be #grateful. • #yogashorts by @lululemonhk #thisisyoga • 📸 by @lic1121 (at 縉城峰 Island Crest)
READ CAPTION👇🏼✨ Want more range of motion in the shoulders? Find strength, mobility and flexibility within the shoulders with this simple exercise using a strap. . Often times we think pushing our chest out and arching the back creates a deeper bend in the shoulders. Instead for this particular exercise it’s only taking away from our target area. . The goal is to maintain a natural neutral spine. To do this: 1. shoulders away from the ears 3. Ribs in and up 4. Button to the spine 5. Tail bone towards the ground. You can do this standing or seated. 6. For less intensity start with your hands further apart, when you feel comfortable enough bring them closer together about shoulder width distance. 7. Inhale lifting your arms until you feel that stretch. 8. Exhale lower all the way down without losing engagement in the arms. (Be strong) 9. If you can’t lift your arms all the way over your head simply stay where you feel comfortable, your body knows what it needs. Listen 👂 Namaste🧘🏻♀️ .
