[Himorogi], powerful sculpture depicting a mighty wolf made from scrap wood by artist Seiya Kaji (personal site + twitter).
In Shinto, the 神籬 himorogi is a sacred space where can be placed an object called 依代 yorishiro (often a branch of sakaki/evergreen) to act as physical representation of the invisible kami’s presence.
The artist lives in Tochio and wanted to embody the fierceness nature of that mountainous area.
Am I confusing something? I am sure somebody said at some point that a yorishiro can only be destroyed by either a kannagi or by the owner. So why is everyone so amazed Tsukasa survived Mirai's attempt to kill him? (This is not an anti-Tsukasa ask! I love him but rather than crediting him for surviving that was a really smart move to get rid of his shackles!) Btw since Mirai tried to kill him, did they really not figure out he's a yorishiro? Maybe human yorishiro are extremely rare?
Hahahaha that's exactly it, in the same way that they thought it was strange when Tsukasa crossed his arm across number one's chest, everyone thought it was strange because he did it in his borders.
However, Tsukasa did the same thing with number three. It seems that their memory is weak, they are forgetting some concepts from the past.
Anyway, I was curious about what would happen, Tsukasa wouldn't die, no one is born or dies on a boundary, as Hanako said, so it would be a kind of lifelong punishment, Tsukasa in dust, just with time advanced. This explains why Hanako was more worried about what Tsukasa was going to do to number one, than about Mirai trying to advance his time.
It's mysterious to see how the mysteries are discovering Tsukasa now, but your question is interesting, the information between the mysteries seems to be vague. They're not friends, they don't have much contact with each other, it's every man for himself.
I think the only one Hanako had the most contact with was Tsuchigomori, even number two he hadn't seen in a while.
Can I say that the three of them are more united now? Maybe that explains why they can get confused, despite it literally being clear to Tsukasa that he's a yorishiro.
Hanako was also surprised to discover that Sumire was a yorishiro, even though he knew that human yorishiros exist.
Maybe they know that Tsukasa is Hanako's yorishiro, but they haven't said anything about it until now.
I really love the look on Hanako’s face with no pupils as if he’s genuinely shocked or speechless… I still want to know the backstory behind No. 1’s yorishiro?!?
What Makes a Yorishiro?
Well wouldn't you like to know...
But no, really, what DOES make a yorishiro? I thought I knew at first, but recently, I've started thinking my definition is a little... off.
So I wanted to revisit yorishiro in this post, and review the explanations AidaIro has given us within the context of JSHK! Please, join me, as I barrage you with screencaps you have probably seen a hundred times. ☆ミ
wait so
what is mitsuba’s yorishiro?? does he even have one?
TBHK CH. 95:
I've suspected for a while that Tsukasa was Amane's yorishiro due to his different colour seal. It's the same colour as the other Yorishiro seals, and he's been alluded to as a Yorishiro through the art at times.
