Note to self, inspired by Alan Watts’ “Trust the Universe” talk
Dearest self,
There's light and darkness in you.
There's nothing fundamentally broken or wrong that needs fixing about you.
In your mind and within all life is the expression of the Consciousness of Everything That Is.
The Source of ALL thought, matter or energy, including,
our demons of paranoia, the insecurity, the deepest darkest secret, the longing, the desire, and ALL feelings.
You can seek and analyze, experience and be ashamed, or fix and problem solve yourself.
Yet, know there is no end to thought and experience from within our minds, as Conscious beings.
A knife doesn't cut itself, fire doesn't burn itself, light doesn't illuminate itself.
You will always be an endless mystery.
Explaining and picking things apart will only lead to more complexity and to a degree, a vanity of knowledge.
Gently stop and be purposeful about where you put your energy.
There is nothing to seek.
What we seek is already within us, in the form of the experience of being You.
As a unit of Consciousness of All That Is, You are the witness who perceives and the doer who experiences and does. Two sides of the same coin.
This universal law states one cannot exist without the other.
The sadhana / spiritual practice, then, is in being one with this knowledge.
Embrace--
the darkness, the messy, twirly, twisty and the drudgery, the hopelessness, desolation and despair,
the contentment, playfulness, purity, happiness, strength, exuberance, love and wonder of it all in one's inner world.
Dig deep. Way deep. Into joy, peace, gratefulness and celebration
through the perceiving, feeling and doing of it all,
as it is All That Is You, Divine incarnate.
Namaskar.
