Sweat was running through your forehead from the adrenaline of your performance. You stared back at the applause of the audience. Yet to you, it was as if you couldn't here anything at all. You scanned the ocean of people in hopes of searching for something, someone.
You shook your head in hopes of clearing your thoughts as you flashed a thankful smile towards the audience along with a bow. It was your last performance of the day, you'd be lying if you said you weren't already worn off but you immediately snapped out of it as you still had a fan meet & greet after the show.
You could here your manager along the side calling out for you, signaling that it was time to head backstage. You gave one last look towards the audience before promptly heading backstage to prepare for the meet & greet event.
"Good job out there Y/n!! That last performamce totally felt real!" One of the staff from your agency exclaimed as he gave you a fist bump.
"You totally cried during that last verse aswell." Another staff exclaimed as he gave you some tissues.
"I just got caught up in the moment.." you reassured as you let out a small chuckle.
Your manager guided you to the makeup room to touch-up a bit before the event starts. As you sat there, thoughts of your last performance filled your mind.
'Did it reach him..? (Lowkey ylia vibes ಥ_ಥ), was he even in the crowd?'
You let out a sigh as tried your best to push away your thoughts.
"The last song was dedicated to him, wasn't it..?"
Your eyes flashed wide at the sound of those words as you almost instantly stared at the mirror, staring at where those words came from.
It was from your makeup artist that was currently doing quick, simple touch-ups on you. You stared at her reflection as she didn't bother meeting your gaze and continued fixing your makeup.
She was a long friend of yours. Knowing her even when you and Suna were still dating. She was also the first one to hear about your breakup. Totally not because you showed up an hour prior to your show with puffy eyes from all the crying and she used all her makeup magic to cover it up.
"How did you–" before you could even finish that sentence, she gave you a knowing look that made you avert eye contact knowing full well that Suna was the only person you truly loved enough to dedicate a song to him or even sob that much during a concert.
She continued on with her work as she brushed some powder along your face.
"I messed up..." you said with a sigh as you mind wandered off to those previous memories of you shouting at him. You'd give up anything to just feel your body being wrapped around his arms once again.
Yumi just looked over to you for a bit before going back to fixing you makeup.
"What if he said he wanted you back?" She asked nonchantly as if it was nothing yet to you it meant everything. Just the small sign of hope that you could be with the man you loved most again was enough to lift up your mood. Yet you knew it'd burn even more for you to have false hope.
"I'm pretty sure he does tho."
She was in fact around 75% sure that Suna would try and win you back. She made that conclusion as she saw Suna at the ticket line a few hours ago with a boquet of flowers in his hands and a piss-haired man trying to rile him up.
Right at this very moment, she knew that he was probably waiting at the meet and greet event outside so she wanted to make sure that you look absolutely stunning in case you two would meet.
"What if he asks for a second chance.." she mumbled quietly.
"Is it really ok for me to get a second chance knowing how much of a terrible girlfriend I was to him?" You replied bluntly, not wanting to get your hopes up.
"Isn't that more of a reason for a second chance? So that you two could be better for each other this time around?" She replied back as she made one final fix on your lipstick which left you staring wide-eyed at her with lips slightly parting as if a flame just ignited inside you at her statement.
Yumi took a step back to give one final check to make sure you were all good to go before she internally panicked when she saw that tears were threatening to fall from your eyes.
In any other circumstance, she would've let you cried your heart out as she lent a shoulder. Yet in this circumstance where she just happened to spend all her might making you look prettier than you already were, she was absolutely not allowing you to ruin the makeup.
"Hey, hey! No tears now! Come on, you're gonna ruin the makeup!" She whined as you just gave a slight chuckle as you did your best to push back the tears that were so eager to fall.
She gave a small smile at the sound of your chuckle before she checked the time and noticed that it was already time for you to go out for the event.
"A'ight the event's gonna start soon. Better get going."
"Thanks again, Yumi." You thanked her as you gave her a quick hug.
"You got this, alright?" She reassured as she gave you a small pat on the back. She was oddly giving a lot of encouragement for a simple meet & greet but you paid no mind to it as she was naturally a really supporting and encouraging friend.
You gave one last wave over to Yumi before heading out the room and heading over to the event site. One glance at the people waiting in line to greet you and you immediately let out a mental sweat drop.
'Can I even greet them all before night time.'
You made your way over to the chair parallel to the guests and your fans waiting to greet you. There were a lot of young girls supposedly in their teens to say the least.
You let out a soft chuckle bringing you nostalgia when you yourself were at that age and would go around all the concerts of the people you idolized and how you would wait in line for hours during the meet and greet.
You were always so excited. On the contrary, the one who usually accompanied you was definitely not interested at all a lot less interested. Yet he still made the effort to go and carry your bag for you, or buy you snacks while you wait in line.
You barely even noticed the sad smile that sprawled across your face. You shaked your head and decided to stop these thoughts to go on and focus on your fans.
You were flattered to say the least. The thought that your work inspired so many other people. 'Guess it wasn't for nothing after all.' You thought while smiling at the big teddy bear a young fan gave you and placed it at a table behind you.
"Damn Y/n, you got quite the fanbase here~"
The moment you heard that voice, you automatically whipped your head to get a glimpse if you were right. Well you were.
You knew you could identify that piss-haired freak anywhere. It was Atsumu. Regardless of the mask he wore you could still definitely identify who he was. As for the man lurking behind him...
"Rin..." You felt your heart race as your gaze met his. His gaze that you'd get lost in as his arms wrapped around you. His gaze that was right now awkwardly trying to avert eye contact.
Still behind the setter, Suna stepped slowly to the side just so he could get a better view of you. You watched his every move from how he moved his mask downwards and opened his mouth to speak before closing it back again, pursing his lips into a straight line.
Atsumu's gaze alternated between you two awkwardly as he tried to break the awkward tension starting to rise.
"Look at you Y/n! To think that you only used to do concerts by yourself in the bathroom at 3 in the morning and now you're–" Atsumu exclaimed, a little to loudly. Making the other fans in the back overhear his little spur down memory lane. Regardless to say, you shut him up with a glare before he could finish that sentence.
"That coming from a now pro player who still can't serve properly with even the slight cricket noises in the background." You spurred back as from afar, it looked like you two were shouting all kinds of shit using only your gaze.
"Tsk. I did not just travel my ass here just for me to get slandered. Here." He rolled his eyes as he shoved a boquet of flowers in your face.
You were going to fight back not before noticing the specific flowers on the boquet. It was your favorite flowers that only Suna knew about. The kind of flowers he'd give you on dates or whenever you were mad at him.
Your gaze went back to Atsumu only to be met with a smirk across his features knowing full well what you were thinking about.
"Those are from Suna by the way~" he teased as Suna's averting gaze was shot back to Atsumu as he glarred daggers at him. Unbeknownst to you that he was stepping on the setters foot from behind the table that was seperating you from them.
You could never get used to the feeling of recieving flowers even when Suna would give you them. It was something you thought you'd only ever see in those shoujo mangas.
Flustered, you could only stare at the man you loved as he seemingly cowered below your gaze in an awkward manner.
Without a word, he slid a paper along the table over to you just like how the other fans would do, asking for an autograph.
This time however, it seemed like he wanted more than your autograph.
I just lost the person I loved because of my own selfishness. I was wondering if maybe she'd give me another chance and let met make it up to her?
As you read the note, you could feel tears forming on corner of your eyes as a wave of all different emotions washed over you, seeing a small Yumi scolding you on how you're gonna ruin your makeup in your head. You looked over to Suna who was uncharacteristically shying away from your gaze.
Your gaze went back to the piece of paper in your hands as you read through each and every word again making sure you weren't just imagining things.
'Can I really get a second chance? Another chance to be with him? Like we used to?'
You seemingly wrote something back on the paper before adding your signature on the edge and handing it back to Suna with a small smile.
He took back the paper as he met your gaze and there was a faint hue of red across his features. He felt like a child all over again as he met your eyes that was still gazing back at him with so much love.
His eyes drifted back to the paper, scared to death to see whether the words you had written would mean he could wrap his arms around you again or mean that this was really the end between the both of you.
I think she'd like that :) Meet up at our usual place?
You could see the corner of his lips tug slowly into a smile as he read your response.
"Man, look at you two lovebirds as lovey-dovey as usual~" Atsumu teased as you two both perked up in response with a bashful and awkward expression not used to being called lovebirds anymore.
'Tsumu, you bitch, it's like you're basically picking a fight with me at this point.' You thought to yourself as you glared daggers at the said setter.
"Ms. I think it's time for the next guests to greet you." A staff whispered beside you as you were immediately brought back to reality and noticed that you did spend a longer amount of time on the two. The world really did stop whenever you two were together. Let's just forget Tsumu was there.
"Well we'll get going now! Keep up the good work Y/n!" Atsumu exclaimed as he gave you a fist bump and went on ahead leaving Suna there on his own with you.
"I'll see you tonight alright, princess?~" he said in a low tone, soft enough for only you two to hear as he gave off a sly smirk and his usual teasing slowly starting to come back.
Let's just say your mind malfunctioned for a second there as your cheeks practically fumed.
'Still cocky as ever huh?'
You stood there alone at the back of a cigarette shop that Suna often went to. Regardless to say, you both hanged around here a lot. Given that you often visited the book shop that was only in front of the said cigarette shop.
You were nervous to say the least, what if he doesn't show up? Or what if he changed his mind? What do you say? Can you really fix this?
All different thoughts raced through your mind as you constanly shifted your weight on each foot alternately out of nervousness.
"Y/n–" "OH MY GOD–" You reacted out of surprise as you were suddenly pulled away from your thoughts from the call of your name.
Well, this is kinda awkward. Suna was facing you, shocked himself from your own yelp of shock as he stared at you who had pepper spray in your hands ready to bring death in case it was some kind of nasty perv.
You both just stared at each other for a good half a minute before errupting in a fits of laughter.
"You scared the shit out of me!"
"Sorry, I shouldn't have left you waiting by yourself in a place like this." He said with a chuckle. A chuckle that you only ever hear when he was with you.
"I thought you were some kind of old perv." You joked with a chuckle of your own.
"Would an old perv look this handsome?~" he teased. The kind of tease he only ever does when he's with you. He wasn't much of a talkative type to begin with. Yet when he was with you he found himself teasing you a lot more often just to see your reactions. Your reactions that never failed to put a smile on his face.
You could only roll your eyes as you plaufully jabbed his shoulder while you both laughed at your antics. It felt good. Both your hearts were practically fluttering out of your chests at the nostalgic feeling you both used to share with each other.
"Look, Y/n...I'm..." He started as he did his best to find the words. He knew what he wanted to say. He practiced it over and over again knowing what he wanted to stay in order to get his throught across. In order to let you know that he knew he fucked up. To let you know he was sorry.
Seeing him struggle, you shook your head. "Rin, it's fine..." you reassured as you took his hand on yours.
"Let's just...look at the stars...?" You said hesitantly. Almost cringing at the overly-romantic suggestion as you felt your gaze wander off to the sky filled with bright stars anyway and back to the man you loved wholeheartedly.
He could only stare at you for a few seconds before letting out a faint chuckle. He took the hand you used to hold his gently and placed a quick kiss on the back of your palm before bringing you closer to his chest.
You smiled. It was this feeling that you so dearly missed and longed for. The feeling of his arms around you as you inhlaed his scent.
"Yeah...let's look at the stars." He said gently as you looked up to him only to see him gazing back down at you.
'Cause to him, you're the only star he'll ever need in his life.
