I'm sorry in advance for any mistakes in my communication: I don't really know how this platform works and english is not my first language but I really wanted to reach out to you. I've just read your fanfic on ao3 and I am ecstatic! It is pure art! I really wished I could read the end but I saw you last published on 2024-08. So... I don't really know how to say this: I just hope you're alright and if you're going through something bad (which I really hope it's not the case! but if it is) I just wanted to... cheer you up if I can! Today I randomly thought of checking this side blog for the first time in months, and I want to tell you this ask means so much to me! Thank you you're so sweet—

I do have plans to complete the fic at some point, but at the moment I'm working on building my art portfolio and working full time, so it's difficult to find substantial free time to write. 😭 I've had the ending outlined for AGES it's just a matter of sitting down and actually finishing the thing. I really appreciate you taking the time to read it even though it's incomplete! I loved writing it and I know I'll enjoy working on it again when I get a chance to update it.

Chapter 38: an extra

Excerpt:

The slapping footfalls of Aeron approaching from behind draws Jayce's attention. The kid's face is now mercifully free of dirt and grime, revealing a bright complexion and healthy, shining eyes. Though Aeron's black mop of hair is still dripping with bathwater, at least it seems to lack the grease that had flecked his limbs just minutes before. His filthy clothes look out of place when compared with the relative cleanliness of his body. Jayce wishes they had more time. Maybe when Viktor's back topside and when this Zaunite army is neutralized, Jayce can buy him some proper clothing.

But not now.

"You ready?" Jayce forces the tightness in his voice to sound almost chipper.

“I was ready before," Aeron grumbles, already turning to stalk towards the station door.

Jayce risks a glance back to Officer Evans, who's now holding four masks and wearing a mildly bewildered expression. The officer's voice drops low enough to convince himself that the kid can't hear him: "You said he's your source?"

Jayce shoots the enforcer a look he hopes will encourage him to keep his thoughts behind his crooked teeth and selects three masks from the pile in Evans’ arms. He falls into step behind Aeron, and to Jayce’s mild annoyance a few seconds pass before Evans’ remembers that he's meant to follow.

Summary:

The world begins to crack around Jayce and Viktor when Jinx’s bomb obliterates the Council and nearly kills both men in the process. With Viktor’s health still rapidly declining and threats of civil war looming on the horizon, dire decisions regarding Hextech’s future must be made.

Choosing between writing and making fanart to post to my main is an eternal struggle

Serious Question for my fellow fanfic writers.

Do you also write in times new roman 12 point font? Or I am still just traumatized from high school? ( did the math, that was 7 years ago for me and it makes me want to throw up )

I personally usually wait to double space until the end of a piece so that I can see the page count go up, but my final piece is always double spaced in my docs.

I write in the default font for Notesnook—which is a very cozy (and free) platform btw. I don’t think other fonts are an option as far as I can tell, but it works amazing as a writing app if changing the font isn’t essential for your workflow :)

Rereading through previous work for a longfic you haven’t updated in a while is a humbling experience for multiple reasons but the greatest embarrassment of them all is I Forgot All the Plot Points and Keep Getting Surprised

Seriously, like… what was the thought process when they were spitballing Viktor’s character?? “This guy already has a fairly tragic backstory, how do we make it the most gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, soul-crushing thing possible? Oh I know, let’s make him just the sweetest, kindest, gentlest person on the planet and then CRUSH HIM.”

Jayce’s heart never stood a chance, and neither did ours. I will be defending his crimes no matter what come November. I hope he takes Piltover down honestly.
