Big fan of the trope where Superman just…manhandles Batman.
Clark slinging Bruce over his shoulder or grabbing Bruce’s belt so he doesn’t run away or just locking Bruce in place with an arm around him because what’s Bruce going to do? Pull him off??
Truly top tier content.
The fact Bruce even lets Clark touch him at all speaks volumes about their relationship as well. If Batman truly hated being held like a plushie, as his squirming and kicking and protesting would seem to indicate, Superman would probably have Kryptonite in his molars by now. But he doesn’t.
It’s something about Batman ‘I am vengeance, I am justice’ being physically held back by the most powerful man on earth that tickles me. To others who don’t know Supes and Bats’ dynamic, Superman forcefully picking Batman man up away from the situation only serves to strike more fear into people’s hearts. How bad is Batman if SUPERMAN is needed to physically remove him??
To those who do know them, it’s just Air Jail.
been thinking about the justice lords episode
Every day, I mourn for what could've been for the lego batman sequel
Just thinking of all the superbat development/moments we could've had 😞
CURSE YOU UNIVERSAL FOR BUYING THE RIGHTS TO LEGO AND STEALING THE CHANCE FOR A SEQUEL 😭!!
My part of work to a wonderful story https://archiveofourown.org/works/32815408/chapters/81425263 by OuiBeebles. Thank you for this experience)))
no one's taking your cookie bruce
this meme but superbat
Writers, how many current WIPs do you currently have? And which is the one you are actively working on right now?? No cheating ❌ GO!
two superbat drabbles and two stucky drabbles 😭😭
I am bouncing between all of em lmao
I can't wait for your Ao3 official superbat fic too<3333
Oh, thank you! But, I haven't really started on one yet, since I don't really know which one, and also just resting from writing another fic atm 😭
The stucky one drained the shit outta meee. But I do have 2 superbat drabbles in the drafts rn — still being written!
But tbh, the siren one is lowkey kinda calling my name... but I'm not sure. All the superbat drabbles I've written are kinda just good as they are, and if I extend them idk what I could write.
The only other one that comes to mind is the horseback one. But I would have to plan a bigger plot around that one but it sounds exhausting tbh. Cuz I only wanna commit to one-shots for now.
... unless i just make it a long one-shot with wtv plot, idk :p

can't stop thinking about how steve literally crossed enemy lines with nothing but a fake shield and the hope that bucky was still alive. like people really don't talk enough about how insanely dangerous that was. he had no real experience and just walked straight into a hydra base alone. he could've been killed or captured at any second but none of that mattered to him. all he cared about was saving bucky and the other soldiers.
NONNIE YESSSS, PREACH IT HONEY 🔥🔥🔥
Seriously tho, what Steve did is so fucking insane on so many levels. And I think that just goes to show how deeply and viscerally he cares about Bucky. It's- he's so down bad for his man, I struggle to find the words for it.
Look at the facts here. Steve eventually got a surprise ride on a plane, but before that? Once the car he planned on stealing inevitably left him stranded in the middle of nowhere, with no gas nor anything? He was 100% willing to walk like fifty miles across enemy lines, just to get to Bucky. Nevermind all the ways this could have gone wrong, like you said, nonnie.
I just.
THIS GUY. THIS BEAUTIFUL, ROMANTIC, STUPID-IN-LOVE DUMB FUCK.
He's not equipped in any way to carry out a rescue mission. He hasn't had proper combat training, he probably hasn't even discovered the full extent of his new abilities yet, and once he lands in Kreischberg he's completely on his own: no back up, no support, no fucking protection of any sort - my dude is out here wearing literal theater props, for god's sake!!! A fake shield! A fake helmet stolen from one of his backup dancers! He's even still wearing his stage costume under his jacket because that's in what kind of a rush he was to go rescue his man, like!!! *IMPLODES*
And I would like to emphasize that, because. Good god, this guy knows no chill.
In less than 2 minutes, Steve found out that Bucky had been captured, saw through Phillips' dismissive and condescending bullshit, realized that there was one (1) feeble chance that Bucky might still be alive, and HE DID NOT HESITATE.
HE HAULED ASS. ON. THE. SPOT.
BUCKY NEEDS HIM? STEVE'S ON IT. HOPPING TO IT RIGHT THE FUCK NOW, READY TO RISK IT ALL. 30 MILES BEHIND ENEMY LINES? NICE, HE'S GETTING THE SCENIC ROUTE. HE'S GONNA GET SHOT AT? TIME TO SEE HOW FAST HIS NEW REFLEXES REALLY ARE. I'M GONNA EAT GLASS, ANYBODY WANT SOME??
Did Steve stop to think or, I don't know, come up with an actual plan? No. Did he bother asking for permission? Fuck no. Did he consider the fact that, if he did make it back alive, he'd be facing the consequences of his insubordination? Sure, but ask Steve if he cared. He did not give one single flying fuck about any of that. He was just desperate to get moving ASAP, screw everything else.
Because! This was Bucky. Bucky!! Nothing else gets priority over Bucky.
Like LEGIT, one thing you see consistently in the entire cap trilogy is this: the very second Steve hears that Bucky is in danger, that's it, instant tunnel vision developed. He sees nothing else, he'll listen to no one, he won't stop for any reason on god's green earth. It's a simple equation: Bucky needs him and Steve needs to get to Bucky, everyone else can either help or shut the fuck up. His solo rescue mission in CATFA is the perfect example of this.
What makes it even more crazy is, at the end of the day, Steve has no actual guarantee that Bucky is still alive. Honestly, he has no guarantee that he himself will survive in that factory-turned-prison-camp long enough to find Bucky in the first place.
But that's just the thing. He's not gonna stop until either: 1) he finds Bucky, dead or alive; or 2) someone shoots him down and Steve drops dead right there and then. Literally. That's it. That's the only way they can get him to stop looking, stop hoping, stop trying to save the man who happens to be the single most important person in Steve's life.
Bc whether you see them as lovers or as platonic friends, you cannot deny that Bucky is, for all intents and purposes, the only family Steve has left. He's not just Steve's best friend, he's the person Steve loves most in the world. The one person with whom Steve has built this unshakable, bone-deep, life-long bond, that has tethered them together since they were kids.
And the reverse is also true - Bucky is the one person who loves Steve most. His folks care about Steve too, I'm sure, and Steve may have had other friends back home, but they wouldn't care in the same way Bucky does.
No other relationship in their lives runs as deep as this one. No other relationship of Steve's is rooted in this kind of blind and unconditional devotion. No other relationship has forged him and shaped him the way his relationship with Bucky has. So intimately. So fundamentally.
Of course Steve straight up refuses to give up on this person (who is, and always was, his whole world), simply because someone's told him that Bucky's gone. How could he act any differently? This is his heart we're talking about.
And when he learns about the attack and realizes that the soldiers belonged with the 107th, and Bucky was amongst them, his strong emotional reaction shows you just how personal this matter is to Steve. He'll go to any lengths, legal or otherwise. He'll do whatever it takes to get Bucky back.
He will either save Bucky or die trying. That's it. That's the extent of his plan. That's possibly the only area where, in Steve's book, the world is in fact either black or white; no shades of gray there.
